Word is $500,000 more, not sure it is true. Sounds like he was not planning on a counteroffer from the Saints and it may cost us more to get him.

That is part rumor, part opinion.

If Nebraska was gonna hire anybody they shoulda offered George Hero, but rumors say that he wanted to bring his whole staff with him: Michael Chiabatta, Jason Footlong, Don Hoagie, and Johnathon Submarine. Nebraska didn't have the cash to pay all those classics.

Nebraska can't come close to the cash that UT can pay Orgeron. The price of corn is way down.

Neb is no where in it.....its either

LSU- stay in LA and get to a college (the more I read, the more i think this will happen)
Tenn- Move far away, $, and Get to college (PLZ HAPPEN, BUT ITS NOT LOOKING GOOD)
NO- Stay put where fam likes it. (not likely)

He may choose to stay in LA even if we out bid everyone. Family is a bigger issue than most think IMO.

UF fans claim that this was the plan all along with Gonzo and Addazio. They say Addazio will be a HC in a couple years and Gonzo will move up and that he's set for a big raise anyways. I still think it would be tough for him to turn down an OC job and a bigger raise if Kiffin offers it.

As for Orgeron, it's the same thing I've been saying for a while. There are a few factors that I think will keep him from going to LSU. Mainly, Miles and Orgeron hate each other. Another reason is that, especially if Chavis is hired as DC at LSU, it will be a very long time before he could be the DC there. He would be the DC at UT once Monte retires which will be within 5 years. Lastly, I don't think LSU will match UT or NO as far as salary goes. His family would still have to move an hour and a half away just for him to go to LSU. It is an NO/UT battle imo. UT has the college factor, which is big considering O loves recruiting more than the game itself. His family loves NO, though. I'd say they would love Knoxville if they'd visit. We gave him a really nice offer, but NO also upped their offer. I think we've offered a little more. Not sure who is offering more and which matters the most. The money, the college experience, or his family's comfort.

After attending today's game between New Orleans and Carolina, many Saints fans are more than willing to see Orgeron go.

How much money is New Orleans offering Orgeron? UT needs to beat that offer by $100K minimum to get him to leave NO.
