Mac vs PC (split)

A $600 laptop is a plasticky piece of crap. An Apple laptop is a sturdy, well-built solid piece of aluminum. That comes with free tech support forever at a store where you can just walk in and ask them to help you.

The only company making laptops of the same consistently high quality is Apple is Lenovo, and they are priced accordingly. As with everything in life, you get what you pay for.

My roommate has been through two macs (one Macbook, one MBP) breaking down and not working in the same timeframe that I've had my $800 HP laptop. Not to mention I've got a 6 or 7 year old HP desktop that still runs perfectly.

These little mac fanboy delusions are hilarious.

If your too dumb to fix your own computers then you shouldn't have one.. jmho

Sure, that makes sense

I guess the same goes for cars, plumbing, having electricity in your house...

Why stop there? If you are too dumb to perform a triple bypass on yourself you shouldn't be alive

Those experiences are probably extremely relevant to your purchasing behavior. Of course I have my own experiences and they're the complete opposite. See how that works?

It's all a personal preference. Apple fan boys and PC fan boys will always have slanted opinions and not be willing to give props to the other.

Personally, I used PC's exclusively until 2007. Since then, have switched over to Mac for desktop, laptop and iPhone. Much more user friendly for me and zero viruses. Don't see myself going back to PC again, but I never say never.

Tell that same thing to the guy who says all PCs are plasticy garbage.

I'll stick to the opinion that Macs are overpriced, underpowered machines built tor people who can't run a computer.

I know less about computers than Kentuckians know about toothpaste but from my experience my Dell Inspiron (sp?) was a huge piece o'schyt and my macbook pro has been flawless.

I only speak for myself. At least he was attacking the product and not the person. Why is it always your side of this argument that takes this stuff so seriously? You've now stated that you think Mac users are delusional and incompetent. If you're trying to craft a successful argument, you are coming up a little short here.

A Kia would get me to work everyday, but it doesn't mean I'm going to buy one.

I just delivered a Dell Vostro 3750 today, with a Intel 330 series SSD installed. Restart from one desktop, to next usable desktop (Win 7 Pro 64) was 27 seconds, including POST and BIOS screens. Windows 7 is a great OS.

I still use XP, just because I've got it configured for what I do, and I use Ubuntu 11.10 on my laptop for maximum battery life (Preload and Jupiter are great for that).
