A fair assessment, unfortunately there are those here who want to lay it all on the kid, while knowing jack **** about the situation. I would rather they take his word for it and avoid PR doom
Can't remember, but I am pretty sure UT has released players unconditionally before "da lawyer" came into town. Has the university changed its policy since Dooley has taken over, or is this a Dooley policy?
Again, why would he want to go to an inferior school, both athletically and academically. Not sure anyone is laying anything on the kid? I'm not bashing him, but he has an opportunity where he can play immediately at CMU. Unfortunately, there are some fans who want to second guess everything Hart and Dooley do while knowing nothing about the situation as well.

If it was me...I give him a release and wish his father well. That is my right answer.
On the other hand, we have pulled a couple of players out of 4* players out of Michigan in two years. There are all kind of reasons that releasing Arnett either one of those schools makes no sense at all.
You can neither praise or find fault in Dooley's decision, IMO.

4* players have had interest in central michigan. If it was me...I give him a release and wish his father well. That is my right answer.

if the policy is vague how can he go against it?Yeah, he is going to catch flack no matter what he does at this point. He is either going against policy, opening the door for players to walk off cuz college is hard, or he is a villian for keeping a son from reaching the bedside of hs (never really) long lost father who could very well die. That's why he gets 2 million a year. He can have it.
It doesn't matter. It is within Dooley's purview. We have released an official statement, and we need to move on. Quickly. Decisively. Authoritatively. And permanently. This is an area where the fans have no standing and to argue a moot point is detrimental to the goal-- killing the controversy.
