i already heard them on espn saying that they could be a dark horse for the NC next year. that is what happens when you have a great coach.

We should have a pretty good offense but defense will be a problem, I think. We need a good D recruiting year or two under the belt to be anywhere close to a run at the NC. I think ESPN is already trying to promote false hopes.

I'm going to need a translator...LOL

JennVol, I guess you struck a little bit of a nerve but really I mostly read rival fans (not just Tenn) talk about CPB all the time. Most of the Bama fans I know have moved on and want current success...not "back in the 70's...blah, blah".

I've heard you or others make this argument a few times but living here in Bama, I hear about the Bear at least 4 times per week. It's always from Bama fans. Opposing fans wouldn't be bringing it up if Bama fans didn't constantly refer to the Bear, how the Bear did it, etc. etc.

I disagree. I NEVER yes NEVER hear anything about the Bear unless its from a rival fan! I promise you that.

Go to crimsontusks.com and see how much you hear about the Bear.

This is just something that rival fans use to try and get under our skin.

Mal Moore has now immediately placed himself on the same level as Jeremy Foley as a great AD. He thought big and didn't allow himself to be dissuaded. There are some people drawing big salaries in Knoxville who need to take lessons.

Yet he almost bailed on Saban for Coach Rod (not a bad back up choice).

I hear it nearly everyday - year round. Fans always talk about how great the Bear was, how he did it right, how Shula (or insert name) doesn't do it like Bear, blah blah blah.

Every coach since BB has been compared to him on a frequent basis by Bama fans. If the coach does something good - it is Bear-like; something bad - un-Bear-able (how about that word!)

I seriously believe you, but I never hear it, even from my Bama friends and members of the forum I frequent. Bear is mentioned 80% more here than on the Bama forums.

So be it as long as we win and show improvement! Thanks.

Ditto...a lot of fans are ready to move onward and upward. I also have no problem with him being the sole interviewer...stops players like Darby saying "they just need to give me the ball more so I can dance at the LOS and fall down".

Just suck it up! If UT was in this position you all would be estatic. Your own members here are the ones wanting a new coach now. When Phil was hired for 200k and unlimited doughnuts 80yrs ago that was top money. Now adays it's different.

Be Happy for Bama! :)
I just want to know how long this love affair will last with Saben after you lose to Tennessee,Auburn & LSU next year?..... oh yeah lets not forget Florida State & GA and some little school like Miss. State who always beats bama it seems now....lol i see 6 more losses for THE CRIMSON TIDE.

Well, those fans are delusional and you should just walk away. Like Rev said I really don't hear any Bama fans go on about CPB...he's been gone a long time now. Several years after his retirement were pretty bad though.

You really think he will make that much of a impact in his first year get real Rev. :eek:lol:

He absolutely will. You just haven't watched enough college football this season. Alabama has a lot of YOUNG talent that is being groomed. Mike Shula was going to win 8 or 9 games in 2007. Nick Saban has put Alabama as a darkhorse national title contender.

I for one am just glad Bama finally got a coach that has a personality just like their fans..... (Insert a pic of a dirt sandwich here)

No way no how. not with that o-line and the defense had ALOT of seniors on it sorry Bama not next year maybe the year after.

You know 10 years ago you'd be right but us Bammers have endured some pretty dire times...we'll give him a couple of years to implement his system and recruits, I think. You'll have the idot fans demanding a NC run in 2007 but the intelligent ones will give him a chance.

Do you really believe that for a minute?

No offense, but you guys are the ones that ran Bill Curry after he went 10-1.

Yeah they gave Shula a great chance huh?
Guy finally gets HIS recruits in this year and what did they do. They KNEW he had no head coach experience when they hired him.
