Seems plausible. Knowing Heup’s personality he would rather it be that way instead of having to fire Banks. More of a mutual parting of ways. Looks better on Banks’ resume as well.Wonder if we're waiting on Banks to interview other places before we can him. No buyout required if he leaves on his own accord.
Sally did say Bama & byu need to win, but I dismissed it when she said Michigan would take a guaranteed spot with their 12-0 record,Sally didn’t know.

Let's go with the 12% optionSally didn’t know.

Huh? Scoring defense is now a cherry picked stat? What matters more?Lol the ultimate cherry pick.
You're really going to say 2022 defense was good because you found one good stat out of a hundred bad ones?
Corners weren’t on the line of scrimmage or at the safety levelYeah... 2 NFL corners doesn't completely change your scheme...uhm it does...We couldn't do what we hoped to schematically, all season. Defense wasn't built to stuff the rest, it was built around the studs.
Stop joshin' around.
-VT 247I have spoken with multiple people over the past few days about who could be the DC under Franklin, and I have heard these two names more than any others (please don't shoot the messenger)
Tim Banks - Tennessee
Brent Pry
-On3Among the names that On3 continues to hear about the most to be James Franklin’s defensive coordinator are Penn State’s Anthony Poindexter, former Virginia Tech head coach Brent Pry and Tennessee’s Tim Banks.
Can't quanitfy the others, but imagine having a top-2 rushing defense in the SEC 3 years running prior to this year...Idk what’s more frustrating with banks:
The lack of in game adjustments?
The run defense?
Terrible safety play?
Absolutely no depth?
Never spying running qb?
All of the above is the correct answer ^
Also think part of that was the Rodney Garner effect with the DLine. DLine helped tremendously with run defense. This year was probably the 1 “down” year for them in that regard. Can't quanitfy the others, but imagine having a top-2 rushing defense in the SEC 3 years running prior to this year...
This was his 1st season not in the top 6. Finished 1 spot behind Bama.
For comparison, average run defense ranking in the SEC since 2021:
UGA - 3.8
UT - 4.4
Bama - 5.4
Woe is us!
