The BCS computers put us 7th and behind Bama, exact same as:

SP+
CFP Rankings
AP Poll
Coaches (8th here)

There's an overall consensus, hate it as we will. I've yet to see a single poll or consensus of computer analytics have us higher. That said, it's also very close.

I feel no place to complain really after giving up 63 to USCjr. And what a great season regardless. And someone said it would give us a better bowl time, which I'm all for. This NY6 bowl vs that NY6 bowl...I just don't care that much. We're in a frankin' NY6 bowl!!

And another thing, what’s this with you acting like I’m Jack Burton, just because I think our guys deserve a better reward for their season than being politicked into having to play a another G5 school? You know that’s not me.

It pisses me off how our program gets s**t on so much. I’m not gonna act like that’s not what happened if we end up in Dallas for the holidays.
I understand what you are saying...and I agree, but I am also excited for any big bowl game.

I will say this...I have always thought the Citrus and Outback bowls were better football matchups and games than some of the NY6.

Can't WAIT for @Glitch to fall on his helmet.

I know some will say "no Bama/Ohio State in the CFP" but me...I like chaos.

Hope Utah upsets USC, hope Purdue upsets Michigan, hope Kansas State stomps TCU

We finish 5th and just outside the CFP...they put in Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, and Bama.

Dust will settle and they'll have Georgia repeat and we win our bowl against whoever and they gotta put us 2nd with all their precious blue bloods finish with 3 losses to our 2. o_O
At this point I just want someone that can beat UGA. Don't trust TCU or USC to do that.

Kids these days are weird.
Nothing surprises me anymore with opt outs. Covid absolutely destroyed any precedent for it only being reserved for high profile draft picks. I wouldn’t be surprised to see guys opting out to protect themselves from being injured for the marketing job they have lined up after college.

Opt outs are the real reason for playoff expansion.

You are correct. One year us and Ohio State were like #3 and #4 in the Citrus Bowl. That’s a playoff-caliber matchup that somehow ended up in Orlando.

Tl;dr

I'll assume you said Orange Bowl or the season is a failure. 👍

I think USC has a better chance than TCU and Michigan just because of Caleb Williams

He could do some Pat Mahomes runnin around finding dudes open on a broken play stuff

Only team that could consistently move the ball I think.

Michigan ain't just gonna run on UGA. We saw what happened last year. TCU isn't explosive enough offensively.

Caleb Williams and his receivers have a shot to do something.

The right way to do the playoff would have been to keep it at 4 teams, but as a separate group of games from the bowl season.

Get rid of conference championships and award those based on season record.

Then have the good old fashioned bowl season that we have always had. Once we have played all the bowl games, then do the rankings and let the top four teams duke it out.

It would have been the best of both worlds - a full, competitive bowl season that also acts as a larger quasi-playoff
F that...I've always wanted a "real: expanded playoffs...I have ALWAYS..like literally my whole sports following life, wanted a 12-16 team CFB playoff.

Of course it is going to be a few years too late to help us...it is the Tennessee way.

I've decided I was giving the committee too much credit. They're not trying to manufacture a rationale. They're just putting who they want where they want them, then trotting out Boo to toss around some total BS that no one thinks will hold up. They know they're hosing UT, they're doing it deliberately, they don't care who knows it and they're not going to expend much effort trying to explain it.

At some point, it became OK to do these things to UT. It's really not OK.
It’s always been that way and always will.
Then they try to splain it like it makes sense.
