NGL, watching Titans… salty defense would be noice in Knoxville. Why can’t we have both Heupel-level octane on both sides of the ball.
Our defense isn't THAT bad. They're coming off their best game off the last two seasons against UK. And they really weren't terrible Saturday.

They are not elite. But one of the reasons for our improvements this season is because of the improvements on defense.

I don't think we have much of a run game without the QB right now. I thought we had gotten better at run blocking but we're not quite as improved as I'd hoped. Thankfully, we could play 100 teams and maybe find 1 that could shut down the passing game the way that UGA did but UGA might honestly be the only one that has the speed and talent to do that. If we face UGA again they will do the same thing *unless* we run the QB more and find a way to get the TE and RB in on passing plays more. I feel like if our TEs or RBs improved even just a little bit more at pass catching then we can give that defense problems. We simply didn't think they could shut our WRs down completely. But UGA's corners are their strength.

Mizzou and SC have good parts of their defenses but I'm more worried about Mizzou than South Carolina. I don't think either can shut the offense down, especially now that they'll have something to prove after getting brought down a peg.

Part of our run game lacking is our lack of talent in the RB room. Jabari was exposed and looked like a G5 athlete out there. He’s just not a SEC RB to me. Not big enough to be a consistent threat between the tackles and not nearly fast enough to get you yards on the outside.

We have all known this defense is outmanned all year. I didn't expect the offense to be this good this soon, but it is. The defense is better than it was last year...it has shown solid improvement over last year, but it is not a stud highly ranked defense, and ain't gonna be one for another couple of seasons.

That is just the way it is.
I don't disagree with that. Better than last year, definitely. Elite? No.

But, when you go back to games against Pitt, ole miss and Purdue, we win those games with this defense.

I didn't say that UGA didn't have a lot better personnel than Pitt...I think you missed the point of my post.

Either way...better personnel or not...there were still open shots to be had.
Oh I know. Hyatt, Tillman and fant. They were there. They'll be there again.

UGA is the first team we've played that had players that could win the matchups that matter when playing our offense.

The impressive part, tho, is they didn't have communication issues and they didn't make mistakes. Not slurping UGA here, I just know how good we are. So to see them stop us cold, I just tip my cap to em.

Hope to see them again, soon.🍊

He's been plenty good enough against everyone not names Georgia.

Id be fine with this. Go 12-1 and finish the season with a Sugar Bowl blowout win. Get some momentum for the next recruiting cycle. Honestly id rather blast someone in the Sugar bowl then go to the playoffs and get our heads beat in. We just dont have the talent yet.

We could go and just rest all the starters for next year, right? Some of the stuff you say. . . did you ever play, even at the pee-wee level? Did you ever play any sports?

I think you’re going to be sorely disappointed to learn that if Oregon runs the table and is a 1-loss conference champ and we’re 1-loss non-division winner then Oregon is in. Even if they aren’t the better team.
If they do, Georgia wins that game by at least 28. It'll be a fine narrative for UT. People will say we got screwed and would have been the better choice.
