The cameras are so good now. A torrential downpour can look like a much lighter rain on TV. Unless they want to film another way to show or even exaggerate it. I've been at a game where it was hard to see the field or teams clearly, but when I watched the replay later I was amazed at how much less the rain appeared on TV. I would imagine it was like that.Kirby would have scored sixty if he could. He didn’t hold back. He played smart since it poured almost the entire second half and didn’t want to risk a pick six or give us dumb points. He wanted us to earn them. Big reason we couldn’t throw and tried to run too. I was there. It was a down pour.
You can not make me believe that Georgia's front 7 is any better than Bamas or LSUs...the OL more than held their own against them. The only other game that they have gotten very discombobulated was against Pitt...also on the road, with Narduzzi employing pretty much the same gameplan. Also fair to point out that it wasn’t a great day for the OL either. Way too many silly penalties, which hasn’t really been an issue all season. Sure it had to do with the environment so, again, would be interesting to see how it would go at a neutral site.
I will never understand why Hendon didn't throw a backshoulder pass there...just a bad brain fart. He has to do better under pressure the next time we play a pressuring defense. I have seen him throw a lot of beautiful dimes under heavy pressure here the last two years...but not a single one yesterday.I could feel momentum slowly turning our way, right up until that happened. Game over the moment Ringo caught it.
Of course the per play average is going to be low when you miss every freaking single big play. No, it wasn’t a “blowout” but averaging 3.8 yards per play on offense isn’t ideal either in that game. Neither is allowing 6.4… Kirby mailed it in the second half for some reason. You’d think he’d really try to bury Tennessee but I assume some of that had to do with the rain as well. Idk. I’m over the game. It was exhausting on so many levels. Time to crush Missouri. SCAR and Vanderbilt.. to end up 11-1
Can’t believe I’m posting this..
I say how can you be deflated? So many in here avoiding how deflating this loss is. Not saying we can't win-out and have a great season. Hooker's goal was the Championship game in Atlanta. Dream 15-0 season gone. These 2 storylines are off the table plus losing just plain hurts. Miss. St. and UK aren't beating UGA. Gotta stand and dust-off Vols. Now the tests of character come. It's a game, I know. But holding the high ground is what we all want to see.
If I wasn't covered, I would have been so pissed. It came down out of no where and didn’t stop for a while. Everyone was soaked. The cameras are so good now. Yeah...but we all knew that the defense was the Achilles heel. I think we have some great true freshman players that will make life absolute hell on offenses in a couple of years, but I think the best this defensive roster could be is simply decent.IF we see Georgia again, I think our offense plays much better than they did yesterday. The problem is, will our defense? I'm not sure the defense can be fixed without better players. Pressure on Bennett was almost non-existent, and our DBs continue to struggle.
