You can't just rework how out of bounds works on your other point though. It's a one in a million exception that it helps someone keep possession after a fumble. If someone is oit of bounds and they touch the ball, play is over.

You can't tackle someone in the act of kicking inside the tackle box. That's a good rule, it's for safety. One instance of it not working out how we expected it to doesn't mean we should scrap it.

Go back and read my statement again. You are asking a defensive player to read the mind of the player who was a punter who is now a player trying to recover a loose ball. That player with the ball also has the option of running with or passing it. Is the defensive player supposed to stop chasing after the ball, ask the guy with the ball what he plans to do first? 😂

Also fair to point out that it wasn’t a great day for the OL either. Way too many silly penalties, which hasn’t really been an issue all season. Sure it had to do with the environment so, again, would be interesting to see how it would go at a neutral site.

Yea, it’s unusual. But once a snap is that bad, the punter should be fair game as a runner, passer, or punter.

Id be fine with this. Go 12-1 and finish the season with a Sugar Bowl blowout win. Get some momentum for the next recruiting cycle. Honestly id rather blast someone in the Sugar bowl then go to the playoffs and get our heads beat in. We just dont have the talent yet.

Texas making the sugar bowl means tcu loses to them. That'd be suspect if Tennessee didn't make the playoff in that scenario.

I was shocked we fired Jancek. I think there's a story there that we don't know and I do know some of the rumors that floated around but in retrospect I'm not sure what to believe. I just know that the entire Butch Era was wasted potential - even Butch's. He hasn't been the same since and as much as there are parts of him that I will never like, he shouldn't be a trainwreck at his current job but he is.

I think he's a guy/coach that had everything going for him at one point but it was all just too much and he cracked. He simply couldn't cope with the pressure and hasn't been able to bounce back from it.

I tend to want to inflict pain and humiliation on some teams more than others(UF, Bama, UGA) more than others..I felt that way about Vandy when Franklin was their coach because I couldn’t stand that jacka**.😠But if I happen to be in a bad mood when playing a pansy then add them to that list too..just business!🤷‍♀️

Not necessarily, if TCU goes to the playoffs someone has to replace them in the Sugar bowl. If Texas beats Baylor at the end of the season and both lose to TCU Texas is the second place in the B12 and gets the nod in this scenario.
