1. You literally know nothing about Banks but have decided on a Saturday to curse at this kid for no reason as per usual.
2. We got Baron out of the portal in less than 24 hours. How does that happen?
3. We have multiple players on our team making 6 figures in NIL
4. Players want money. Happens in the NFL all the time. Millionaire baseball players are currently in a lockout over money. This is going to happen. Get used to it.
I've read about NFL players who sign big contracts and the very next year try to get out of their contract because someone else, at their position, on another team, signs a bigger contract. It looks kinda like it's making its way to the college game.

I spoke with my rep and will be making my annual donation soon. But if these guys like Banks hit the portal for more money, I am out. I love the Vols but the main reason I go to these games is to make memories with my son who is in high school. Why should my hard money go to this crap if players are just going to leave because it is all about the money. Why should we be loyal to them if they are just mercenaries like the coaches. I am really getting jaded when I hear guys we have helped who would not have careers and have represented the University poorly want to leave because the money is not enough. My son and I talked it over. 50 yard line west side seats or not will be coming available if these guys like Banks do what they do. And I will not support it any longer. I am about to the breaking point with this crap and McGill is right. Paying five figure donations is not worth it.

Can’t blame most 20-year-olds for chasing dollars. I remember being a broke college student and I’m sure I would have jumped at a six figure deal to play a game.

Will say, if anyone arguably owes a team some loyalty, it’s Banks. If the UT football program hadn’t stuck by him for a couple years, he’d be flipping burgers now.

You are going to keep to the opinion that the athletes who play the game are not the driver of the money involved in college athletics? With no players, you are just watching grass grow on a field.
Here's the way I see it - as far as "amateur coaches" making so much vs players...it's based on a replacement analysis:

If the memory of every FBS coach was wiped from our memory and those coaches were replaced by D2/D3 coaches, no one would even tell the difference...all is relative there. It'd look the same...or at least not materially different to average fans.

But if you wiped out the memory of all FBS players and they were replaced with D2/D3 players...yeah there'd be a huge falloff lol.

Then there's the NFL argument. If coaches were as valuable as the roster, well...it doesn't add up even one bit.

@VolsDoc81TX and others.. have inexplicable localized severe pain in my thigh for about 24 hours now. It is ever so slightly warm, no swelling. There was no sort of trauma or injury to the leg when it happened. My wife is convinced I have a blood clot. Should I go to the ER?
My wife is an emergency certified NP and says it could be a blood clot or infection.

Also, it is now a business and if you need to remind folks of his past actions to lower what the expense could be for your company, i.e. the University of Tennessee then get ready to play big boy ball. These kids should be careful what can of worms they open up.
This is true. NIL is not just a blanket handing out of cash. These kids who get NIL deals will be representing companies. Kids who are in trouble or have a troubled past are going to learn that NIL isn’t going to help them as much as it does others

Don't care what your opinion of me is. But you have no clue what we have done for Banks. And for him to not appreciate he is not working at a Burger King pisses a lot of those involved in the program off. But it is not the kids fault really. It is the NCAA and how they let it get to this when they should've figure it out before the court had to step in.
I’d imagine he feels as if the new coaching staff isn’t owed any allegiance, not recognizing it took a village to get him out of the **** he got himself into.
