Recruiting Forum Football Talk IV

Every day I learn more about what we're not supposed to discuss. First, no discussing recruiting struggles. Now, no discussing rumors of players leaving.

So how about that Michael Jordan. He's the GOAT.

pretty easy. if he wants to help this team. He can he a leader. If he's entrenched in selfish, single minded thoughts and concerned about himself. he needs to go ahead and do what's best for him. he is talented.

if world was set up to reward folks who do what we perceive as right thing and be a good teammate, and stay committed, see things to the end...then Id hope he stays. Unfortunately, its set up to reward those who think individually. Nothing necessarily wrong with doing things to better your lot, kid only has so many years to ball out. Life is short. Selfish or not. Facts are facts.

Kid could stay and be one of goats or go get paid. Not faulting him one way or other.
What a load of ambiguous horse💩

I must admit I am late to the game when it comes to Banks and his "EXPECTED" NIL deal but who among us thought this wouldn't happen in some form or another ? You are talking about young men and women that have been told they were great their whole live's and were going to go to college and the pro's and make huge money, now instead of making huge money as a pro they see a chance to start early making big money in college and want all they can get.

The sad part to this is they are going to learn some hard lesson about marketability when it comes to what they say and do away from their sport. NO local company will invest, or can afford to, in an athlete with bad behavior and PR and very few large companies will invest because they have such a large pool to pick from. If they mess up and the money dries up do they just find another suitor, have a press conference and "Take their talents somewhere else."

This is not what anybody want's because the Rich will get richer, some will get payed for bad behavior, some will prosper but sooner or later that dirty underside of business and sports will raise it's ugly head and we are going to be able to see it unfold from the start.

SKITTLE anyone, I think the Prozac lick block in the cafeteria will need to be changed daily until this is all worked out.......if it ever is.

Ah... the same ones saying we're doing nothing with NIL while we are in the top 10, maybe top 5, in the country with NIL. Swain actually knows what's happening with NIL. Fanrun don't know crap.

Who knows if they're right about Banks or not, but there hasn't been anything from the kid himself or from the usual sources who would know, so perhaps VN should hold off on cursing the kid out until something actually happens
How can you believe swain either…… just curious

Swain actually has connections. He talks to former players. He has connections in the admin because he is a former player. If nothing else he has a direct line to Brent Hubbs. There is no one in media who has more information about Tennessee Football than Brent Hubbs.

Thanks to all for the thoughts and prayers.

As many of you know, my dad has been suffering from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. It's basically a lung disease where your lung tissue just hardens with scar tissue. Idiopathic means they don't know what causes it. There is no cure other than a lung transplant.

He was diagnosed a little over two years ago, just a few months before my mom died of Alzheimers disease. He progressively got worse where he literally could not convert air to oxygenate his body.

He's been ready to go for some time. He passed early this morning a little after 3:00AM.

My dad and I were literally best friends. He was in business with me until retirement when he quit to care for my mom. No way I could have gotten this business off the ground without him. It's a huge loss for me but I take comfort in that He's no longer suffering.

Again, thanks to all my friends here who prayed or just had us in your thoughts. Please continue to pray for peace for our family. He was really a great man that everyone that knew him loved him. I seriously don't know of anyone that didn't like him.

Thanks to @LA Vol and @Orange Studs who were always asking about him. This is a community of some really great folks here. Thanks, @Freak for giving us this platform.

Finally, if your fortunate enough to still have your parents around, please give them a hug. They won't always be there.

@InVOLuntary, I’m deeply sorry to hear this. I’ve been wondering about your dad and hoping for the best. He sounds like an amazing person who achieved much, loved well and left a legacy to be proud of.

I’m glad you were able to spend the holidays with him, and I’m sure that was a special time for you both. I hope you and your family find peace in his passing, comfort in memories you’ll never lose and joy in the many good times you shared over a life well-lived. We’re all thinking of you.

What about when Swain says something completely opposite of Hubbs?

No offense to bass but that’s kinda what I was thinking

Top 5 in NIL deals but barely get a top 20 class …….

Idk, doesn’t add up
Swain is talking about going forward. The NIL deal had just gotten started. But, it was NIL that caused us to close strong on signing day. Without NIL there's no Williams, West, or Pearce just to name a few. NIL will not be a problem for TN. We won't outbid A&M, but NIL will not be a problem for us.
