Schiano was a pretty successful DC at OSU when we revolted against him. And he had been immensely successful at Rutgers. True he failed in the NFL, but so did Saban. I think the majority of those who didn't want him disliked his lack of being a decent human, not lack of coaching acumen.

He was .500 at Rutgers. I don't think that's immensely successful. I understand they're a crap program, but his record there gave me heartburn.

You know, I guess my biggest problem with Freeze over Franklin is that I just don't like hypocrites. I don't know Franklin that well, but I guess I just think he would be real. What is the real Freeze? Does anyone really know? I'm not saying that I am all for Franklin, but that is the difference in my mind. That, and Freeze's recruiting violations.

In regards to your first sentence..... who out of even semi realistic candidates are “for sure better” than Franklin. I really can’t think of any based on resume. It’s all about how you view each persons potential and upside.

There are alot of football coaches that have baggage. I am an attorney, and simply being the defendant in a lawsuit means crap. I can't say that I like the guy, and his Vandy record was a little fluffed, but he can win games.
