This isn’t a guy paying player on the side man. That’s completely different that some of the stuff that has come up against Franklin.

The only comparable one would be texas AM pulling Jimbo from FSU. I know Jimbo has a title but if James Franklin had a QB like Jameis it’s hard to imagine he wouldn’t at least have a playoff appearance.

Well Schiano was accused by someone who heard something of an incident 20+ years ago at the time , how come the fanbase lost their minds about him being hired then?

If we are being honest...he was also not a good coaching candidate. You don't have to prove anything either way because hiring someone is not like the burden of proving a crime. But if there is a choice between two coaches with baggage, I take the one that wins.

you have to take Ohio St's vetting with a grain of salt, they hired Meyer, Zach Smith and Schiano.

Penn St was coming off the worse scandal in history, I would think they were very thorough in their vetting.

Yeah you will, you are just throwing a fit right now about something you honestly aren't qualified to know details to. Your assumption, because you dont like the guy, is that our AD and administration decided to completely disregard any character or legal issues with James Franklin to hire him after they just completely gutted the department because of cheating.

No I don’t think they would disregard it. But I think it’s ignorant to hire a guy with Franklin’s sketchy past (even while not being convicted) after you preached integrity for an hour just last week. I think it’s beyond risky trying to bring in a guy to fix the program where everywhere he goes trouble seems to follow him.

There are alot of football coaches that have baggage. I am an attorney, and simply being the defendant in a lawsuit means crap. I can't say that I like the guy, and his Vandy record was a little fluffed, but he can win games.

I too am an attorney. I agree with you on the legal stuff. But, as a Penn Stater (and Vol), you don’t want this guy. Ask some Penn Staters.

I know their best Defensive player opted out because he is a top 10 pick and then his top offensive player had a heart condition found in training camp that forced him to stop playing football. They started slow but I think someone here said they started to do better toward end of year.

Does his team ever come out flat and unmotivated against lesser opponents?
Does he look to kill the clock before half time or score points?
Has he ever fired an assistant in the middle of a game?
Is there any rumors of him nailing coeds?

I'm having a hard time with the Vanderbilt rape case. I don't recall all the details, and I don't really want to dig that stuff up. He wasn't found guilty of anything, but I remember it being a really bad look for him.

Correct answers to my questions will help me.
