No, Bruin I’m just not a dummy. I see a man who has had questionable things in his program alleged against him and don’t want him anywhere near the program because that probably means it’s going to happen here.

But yeah, I’m sure it’s just unlucky that wherever James Franklin goes he gets accused of shady ****. It’s all just a coincidence. Poor Franklin is a victim.

He won't though... There will be plenty of people attempting to "schiano" him but the overwhelming majority of the fan base is gonna see a winner and that will drown out the naysayers. This isn't Schiano who had been run out of town by the last few programs he was at. The fan base is starving for a winner and they'll be excited that we hired one, regardless of the vandy stuff.

Schiano was a pretty successful DC at OSU when we revolted against him. And he had been immensely successful at Rutgers. True he failed in the NFL, but so did Saban. I think the majority of those who didn't want him disliked his lack of being a decent human, not lack of coaching acumen.

Franklin is not my first choice, as he was unbearable as Vandy's HC (mainly because he kept kicking our hind end) and the whole rape investigation thing (of which he's been cleared of any wrongdoing). That being said, he can coach the **** out of a football team. He won at Vandy with less talent than he'd be able to get at UT. Hard to believe he would not succeed at Tennessee given our resources. He's a great hire, and probably exactly what we need. I can see why DW had him as the frontrunner on his list. Flame away, I just can't say this is a bad or immoral hire.

Not thrilled with Franklin but we could do a lot worse.

Guy will probably bring stability here. I don't see him beating the Big 3 with any regularity, but if he gets us a competitive roster while navigating us through these troubled times, then I will support him.

He may not be the guy, but he may be the guy that rights the ship for the next.

In regards to your first sentence..... who out of even semi realistic candidates are “for sure better” than Franklin. I really can’t think of any based on resume. It’s all about how you view each persons potential and upside.

Fired? I don’t know. I’ll just say this. If Donde and Boyd hire him after their integrity spiel I’ll never a trust a word they say again.

And I won’t watch the football team. Nobody will care but I’m not gonna follow them with somebody like Franklin leading the way. I want nothing to do with that guy.
