This is not true.

Google “excess deaths” or “excess mortality.” Statistics show the pattern and number of deaths that occur every year. These numbers are used to project “expected death” numbers. These numbers are remarkably consistent with observed (actual) deaths each year. Until this year.

From JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association):

In a research letter by Woolf and colleagues, the authors update their analysis of the number of “excess” deaths in the US related to COVID-19 and other causes from March 1 through August 1, 2020.1,2 The authors report that during this 5-month period, a total of 1 336 561 deaths occurred in the US, an estimated 20% increase compared with the number of expected deaths, and representing 225 530 excess deaths.

Well someone send COVID the memo that the election is over and it’s time to calm down.

Meanwhile the hospital my wife works at just stopped elective surgeries again, opened a 7th COVID unit, and are filling up a morgue trailer with a second already planned for later this month.

That guy is so full of crap. He’s trying to imply that conservative leaning areas are the only places getting an uptick in the virus because they don’t wear masks and New York, California, and the liberal areas of the country aren’t getting sick.
