Year 4 ... Same Old JG

When y'all get to a hundred pages on all this bashing go ahead and start your 100th thread on JG.

If we don't have a qb on the roster better than jg, we have a serious problem in qb recruiting
...and QB coaching. I’m 100% good with giving Weinke his walking papers at this point. i don’t give a damn how well he may be doing recruiting. He is committing coaching malpractice with our QB room if this coaching staff believes JG is the best QB option available to us.

You can never in this day and time win constantly running the football. You must have a balanced attack.
Let me know when we run it well enough to achieve a balanced offense. I haven't seen one in years.

Does anyone think we would have won with any of our other Qb's playing the entire game?
Don’t know. Have only seen them in very limited game time. At times last year they looked more talented, and being young and inexperienced, you expect them to improve.

Shrout did not look more talented. Mauer maybe, but he can't stay in a game due to injury.

If fans are ok with UT being a middle of the road team forever then that's good enough. That's not the Tennessee I fondly remember.
Maybe you should crap the Vols a QB because at this moment he’s apparently the best they’ve got

No, we aren't.

I agree totally with a good qb, we can compete with any of the other teams, with a good qb. our running game will improve greatly. I noticed again how sc was crowding the los, cause they were not concerned about jg throwing deep only had to cover from 12 yds in. Put a deeper threat in there and watch the rb explode.

I'm listening to Voluntary Reaction and Houston Kress made a descent point. Here is JG's stat line for the night.

19/31 259 Yards 8.4 YPC 1 TD 1 Rushing TD, 62% Completion Percentage. Zero turnovers.

JG needs to be better if we are going to win big games, but we're supposed to be a defensive-minded team under Pruitt and we gave up 27 points to a bad South Carolina offense and let one wide-receiver consistently torch our secondary.

There is a lot to improve upon. A lot. But our defense needs to be better. That stat line will help you win a lot of games in the SEC if you just play good defense.
That stat line would win a lot if, some of them completions were on 3rd down and kept the
Offense going and the D off the field more,
But they weren’t so they are misrepresenting JG’s efforts

He did ok. Year 4..I can't believe he's still alive after all the punishment on the field and off. Pulling for the dude actually

Do we have a tight end?

We got a star linebacker but we need a couple more like him.

Based on what? Why should anyone trust this staff's ability to evaluate a QB at this point?

Again, if the rest of our QB room is worse than JG, and can't make the throws he was missing all night, then we need to replace those responsible for developing QBs.

There is zero excuse for not having a competent QB going into Pruitt's third season.

I agree with you 100%, I have been saying the same thing.

The "right spot" was 10 yards out of bounds? Because when you throw the ball that high over your receivers, that's where the ball goes.
What I’m referring to is that he threw the ball to the right receivers all night. They may have been poor throws, but he read the defense correctly all night

That wasn't the point of the post. If JG is the best we have, then we can't blame him for that.
Don’t believe without questions that he’s the best we have because the coaches start him.
Check UGA’s QB’s stats and tell me if the starter or backup was best today!
Tell me that backup Alvin Kamara was the second best RB we had back then?
Coaches somehow get fooled, and get it wrong sometimes.

What are your favorite JG passes? when he throws it three feet over our WRs heads 278 mph or when he somehow throws it two yards behind our wide open WRs 242 mph?
At least he's learned to take a little off the ball in four years... Things are looking up.

Yes sir, we have done very poorly in QB recruiting. We don't know what we have in Harrison yet due to covid. The other three tho wouldn't start for any team in the sec not names Vandy, Arkansas, and possibly Kentucky or Missouri. That's just the reality of the situation. We really need to sign multiple QBs for the next couple years.
