Year 4 ... Same Old JG

His scramble was probably the best run of his career. I don't get the vibe of jitters being a factor for JG. He simply struggles to put proper touch on his passes. He did not throw a dangerous pass all night that I remember. One of those would have been the difference since our team never put them away.
But...but...but he's a dual threat

I’m with everyone....but us, we, coaches, the other team......everyone knows what JG is......and its the coaches who continue to play him.

I don’t know what “else” they have right now. Well I know who they have, but you get the drift......you know the thing.

What part of high and outside don’t you understand! He sucked!

Our online was opening up massive holes for the most part all night. They had one of two rough plays but other than that we're as advertised. We need to run to set up the pass, certainly not the other way around. We ain't a Big 12 team lol

That only works if there's not 3 seasons worth of tape showing that your last-in-FB- accuracy QB can't be counted on to make even easy throws beyond the 10-yard mark.

All USCe had to do most of the night was play soft and cover the checkdown man on option plays. The run is DOA, and JG is either going to miss his receiver on 2/3 throws or he's going to a short yardage check down, and he gets 2-3 yards before he is tackled.

Our offense with JG at the helm has to be the easiest in the SEC to prepare for at the moment.

It’s truly sad that there are some people that watched him play today and thought he did good. Sure, he made a couple of nice passes. But he missed so many wide open receivers it’s not even funny. I was hoping we tried someone else by the 3rd drive. Sure, our defense didn’t look great tonight. But we could have scored MUCH more than we did with a good QB.

At one point I was pining for a JG to be replaced. But he did enough in the 2nd half, particularly being safe with the football, to lead us to a win. That's the kind of guy JG is. He might not win by 50, but he'll do enough to at least win the game. And at the end of the day, all that matters is that we win. And for the 7th time in a row, we did so today.

Good stuff op. Come to think of it...JG is really proof of how good of a coach Butch Jones was. He was fired prematurely!

At this point, the blame has to be laid on Pruitt. If you let your kid drive your car, it ain’t your kids fault if they wreck it.
Whose car did your kids learn to drive? Oh wait. Your the kid who won’t accept responsibility for anything. Got it

JG is a 1 read QB in a 2nd or 3rd read league.

Pruitt and Chaney think hes the guy of the group, and thats all that matters. But that has its limits.

Consistency would be great. JG made so many good throws but missed so many throws. Hopefully he gets it figured out. Just happy we got the win.
Unfortunately, as a 5th year senior I’m pretty confident that he’s figured out all he’s going to.

JG was not at his best tonight for sure. He overthrew his WRs on several big 3rd downs and in my group chat with my brothers I was cussing him lol. But you know what he DIDN'T do? Turn it over. And when SC tied it up he hit two perfect passes, the second of which was a TD. He was 19/31 for 259 and a TD for a very healthy 8.4 YPA

KJ Costello comes out and throws for 600+ yards and 5 TDs in his first game ever with Mississippi State against LSU, and we're here talking about how nice it is that JG didn't turn the ball over.

He's a 5th year senior FFS...

JG hasn't changed a bit for the good since last year.

Get the freshman ready to go in coach.

A meltdown against Mizzou would be so on par with this kid.

Geez.

JG showed tonight that he is the guy to lead this offense. When we had a lead built up, and our defense let us down, allowing SCar back into the game with a serious threat to comeback.... JG and the offense stayed calm, and were able to do enough to win the game.

Happy for our offense, hopefully the defense can get it together for next week. As for tonight, I'm thankful we had a QB that didn't make a mistake when the momentum was completely against us. We haven't done such in the past few years.
It’s good that he didn’t make any costly turnovers. But let’s be real; there were a couple of plays where he was lucky to not fumble or get hit as he threw which ultimately is a result of him not having pocket awareness. Overall he missed so many open throws that not turning it over doesn’t trump him not being able to hit those passes.

Does anyone think we would have won this game with any of our other Qb's playing the entire game?

If the other QBs on our roster can't hit the passes that JG missed tonight, then we need to fire Chaney, Tee and Wienke tomorrow morning.

These were not difficult passes, most were to wide open receivers.

Hug throw U, caused by to much Football grip pressure and no personal confidence. With no personal confidence? No Chance!
