Year 4 ... Same Old JG

JG showed tonight that he is the guy to lead this offense. When we had a lead built up, and our defense let us down, allowing SCar back into the game with a serious threat to comeback.... JG and the offense stayed calm, and were able to do enough to win the game.

Happy for our offense, hopefully the defense can get it together for next week. As for tonight, I'm thankful we had a QB that didn't make a mistake when the momentum was completely against us. We haven't done such in the past few years.

Our defense scored one of the TDS. Without them we lose. JG is so bad. Why! At least Pruitt mentioned at the end of the game that we need to figure out why JG throws the ball over everyone’s head. He isn’t blind to it.

To be fair, 2 big throws were dropped. Though it is obvious that JG still has a problem overthrowing receivers. Hopefully it's just 1st game jitters. Otherwise, I was happy with the performance. Especially late game.

He has had first game jitters for 4 years. I will give him one more game before I write a letter to Pruitt. :p

Not sure all the hate on JG.....from this game.

With JG we KNOW what we got......he’s not going to be Manning, or Dobbs.....but dang he played well enough for Tennessee to win and it not even be in jeopardy near the end.

Lack of discipline = the only reason it “could” have been different there at the end.

“If” you want to complain or hate on JG......May as well cut to the chase and direct it towards the coaches.......everyone knows what Tennessee has in JG.....he is what he is. Tonight he was decent overall. Sure he was off, threw it high......but we know this before he throws the first pass.

We have before, and we can again. It's the 1st game. And we're on a 7-game win streak, longest streak in the country. He may not be Joe Burrow, but he's the best we've got and performed well at the end of the game when the momentum had switched to SC's favor.

It only took him until year 3 to recognize it. Maybe it’ll be fixed by the start of year 4.

No, Pruitt isn’t blind to it, but realizes that JG gives us the best chance to win now. The backups are not very good. Hopefully, Bailey will be the one to change that. Just hasn’t had enough practice reps to know.
