Kress spoke with Dave Bartoo of CFB Matrix. He is extremely high on Helton. He said USC should’ve kept him that he’s the one who develops the guys and really calls the plays. I’m excited for why Helton’s going to do. Wow, could be night and day different from last year. Here’s to a 4-0 start and heading to Ga as a top 15 team

I really think Bartoo's matrix is pretty good. I am encouraged by what he says here, for sure.

Helton is a total mystery to me.

Top 10-15 this year and address the big needs. Well on the way.

.

Hitting the trenches hard this year. Much needed.

Also worth noting that it seems skill guys tend to be more highly rated guys. Might be a reason why we are a little behind on the raw numbers. I think I saw Curry was like #150 overall but only the #25 WR. Crazy

I obviously don't understand then...:ermm:

He is saying that the program was nuked into near oblivion by last season (4-8) and then the coaching search circus on top of that. It takes more than seven months to recover from that, and "expecting" a Bama UGA like haul of 5*s and high 4* in this class is ridiculous. Especially considering all the other great programs already doing well right now that are after those guys.

...and given that we've only had 2 kids transfer since he got here, i would hope that bodes well for the attrition rate going forward, which was way too high under Jones.

Might be something minor but everyone has looked very favorably on the fact that only 2 kids left the program after Pruitt was hired. But more importantly, Pruitt is also proud of that little statistic.

If he cares so much for Jones's kids, you can bet money he's going to care just as much for the kids he's responsible for bringing into the program. This is a perfect example of the tremendous respect given to him by the guys who have played for him.

I choose to be optimistic until there is something to be pessimistic about. So far Pruitt has done nothing to sway that either way so why not choose optimism?

Life is much more enjoyable that way.

This kicked off some good jokes but it's funny how that is the fact of where we're at right now, 0-0, but the pessimists see that as we haven't won anything yet and the optimists sees it as we haven't lost a game yet. Two different truths based on the same fact. :hi:

We're complaining about UT's recruiting (yet it's actually going very well) with a new coaching staff. I imagine the Gator boards are quite a dumpster fire these days...

When should Gator fans begin panicking about 2019 recruiting class?

Dan Mullen enters his first-year as head coach at the University of Florida and the Gator fan base has welcomed him with open arms. Gator fans hope Mullen can restore the program’s winning culture which Gator Nation has enjoyed for the better part of the past three decades.

But as this 2018 college football season draws near, Gator fans are beginning to scratch their heads over on issue: recruiting.

Several times over the past few weeks and months, Gator fans have asked themselves, “what is wrong with Gator recruiting” and “is it time to start panicking yet?”

Florida is currently ranked outside the top 30 nationally in the 2019 recruiting rankings according to 247sports.com. To put that in perspective, Florida is currently behind Purdue, Minnesota, Iowa State, Duke, Virginia and Wake Forest presently.

When it comes to other SEC programs, Florida is ranked tenth out of the 14 schools. Florida is looking up at SEC programs like Alabama, Texas A&M, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Auburn, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Tennessee who are all currently ranked in the top 20.

We haven't even played a game yet. Most big time prospects want to see product in the field before jumping in. Not sure people are understanding this when worrying about July recruiting.

We didn't start getting hot until spring game gave guys a glimpse. If we get in the field and look good then recruiting will hit the next level.

It's a 1st time HC people want to see what it will be

Yes or no: Tennessee has more talent on the 2018 roster than the 2013 roster.

2013 team was awful, even with two nfl QBs on roster we didn’t play either one. I honestly think it’s the worst Tennessee team roster wise in the last 30 years.
