Dan Mullen enters his first-year as head coach at the University of Florida and the Gator fan base has welcomed him with open arms. Gator fans hope Mullen can restore the programs winning culture which Gator Nation has enjoyed for the better part of the past three decades.
But as this 2018 college football season draws near, Gator fans are beginning to scratch their heads over on issue: recruiting.
Several times over the past few weeks and months, Gator fans have asked themselves, what is wrong with Gator recruiting and is it time to start panicking yet?
Florida is currently ranked outside the top 30 nationally in the 2019 recruiting rankings according to 247sports.com. To put that in perspective, Florida is currently behind Purdue, Minnesota, Iowa State, Duke, Virginia and Wake Forest presently.
When it comes to other SEC programs, Florida is ranked tenth out of the 14 schools. Florida is looking up at SEC programs like Alabama, Texas A&M, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Auburn, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Tennessee who are all currently ranked in the top 20.
