Imagine watching Butch Jones tank this team and then thinking Schiano, who is basically another Butch Jones, could be Butchs brother but worse, is a good replacement. That guy is your number 1. Tone deaf.
Someone on VQ made a good point when it was going to be Schiano. Said they took something that, while a lackluster product for a decade, was still fun and turned it into something that was morally and ethically questionable.
I don't know what will happen. As I posted on this topic earlier if I had to bet on Currie losing his job I would probably go with no, but I certainly would have to think about it awhile.
The thing is I don't think (I know) Currie didn't go rogue and chase after Schiano on his own. He had the blessing of some very influential people in that decision, and maybe even from what I've been told was simply carrying out the wishes of some very influential people.
Could he end up being a fall guy? I suppose, but I don't think that Currie was out there doing anything without the full backing of some very powerful decision makers when it came to targeting Schiano as the coach.
You know what, I was just thinking, and we all need to take a collective lap for thinking Brent Hubbs was out of the loop this time around and had no idea what was going on.
He consistently named Schiano and we all laughed and hee-hawed about how Currie was able to hide everything from him.
WELP.
