"Miles" is what I would consider the difference between Middle and Bama. Maybe the difference in definition.
'semantics' I understand.
Okay, in my scale, Bama is light years ahead of MTSU.
This seems a rather silly attempt at poking holes though.
When GT knocks off Georgia, it's a "hey, they pulled it out again, good for them."
If MTSU pulls out a victory like that, it's more of a Memphis over Ole Miss, App State over Michigan. Not in the same ballpark.
Going back UTs last title was interesting. 3 times since 01 was as well.
Crafty.
Or only looked back 20 years as modern era. Not a whole lot of craftiness involved. If you prefer to cherry pick a certain time line that makes it look less, I'm okay with that. But MTSU is still not going to stack up against them.
Just let me know.
Better question. What happens if Butch beats Georgia tech runs the table in the east and winds up stunning Alabama in Atlanta? What will all the nega vols find to ***** about then?
I see.
Just thought it interesting that it stopped exactly then.
I'm closer to an antique than I thought.
Carry on.
We have a prestige school and they have resources to compete with the best.....guess what fans have gotten in last 10 or so yrs?
Pumpers don't want anything negative or CBJ questioned...kind of how CBJ is...doesn't like to be dissected or questioned.
When ppl try to tell "negas" how to think and observe. ....it makes it worse
I believe antique is a hundred yrs, hope you're doing well.
25 is considered classic.
But posters get scolded for counting games from the 70s and 80s against UF.
You know, for going outside the modern era.
Sports writers use the beginning of the BCS.
But like I said, any timeframe you prefer. 30 yrs, add more GT wins.
More recently, they've won 2 of the last 3 but I didn't want to actually be "crafty", so I tried to pick a neutral and commonly used era.
10-4.
I actually thought that series was closer than what it was. I am getting old.
Would "recent memory" be 5 years? Lol
Lol, for me, that may be beyond recent memory.
Sidenote. Websters lists antique as at least 100 yrs using various customs laws. Of corse they also refer to furniture etc. Not people.
So I say we take that as a win for us experienced folks.
I haven't seen anyone actually say they are 100 percent happy with CBJ.
What most of us "pumpers" are saying is that he has done a good job recruiting and building back up a depleted roster. He has changed the culture at UT for the better. He has finally gotten the Florida monkey off our back. Most of us will agree he had made questionable calls during games and seems afflicted with foot in mouth disease.
We are well aware (just as I'm pretty sure CBJ is) that they had the SECe within reach and for various reasons it slipped away.
Most of us are pretty much taking a wait and see approach because unless your name is Haslam or Currie, all the pissing and moaning in the world won't change a thing. We all pretty much know where Jones screwed up just like the negas do, noy just because it's pointed out DAILY, HOURLY TO EVERYONR BUT BECUASE WE WATCHED AND LIVED IT TOO!!!
I was a disappointed as anyone with the Vandy and SC losses but I won't let live in my head rent free and rehash it daily. It's the past. New season , new players, new coaches, and a new outlook.
When I was younger I used to let the losses bother me for days. But then I realized I was placing my happiness within the control of 18 - 22 year old kids and coaches I had never met. So I'm not allowing that to happen. If they lose im still disappointed , if it's a game they should win like Vandy I'm really disappointed and yes I sometimes feel Jones isnt the coach to get us there.
The decision to replace him is made way above my pay grade, I nor you or anyone else in this board had one dang bit of say so.. so why make myself seem miserable to the world to talk to badly constantly about a team and sport that I say I love. I choose not too. It would be easy to point out his mistakes daily and wring my hands and bicker and argue with everyone that seems to see the slightest bit of good in anything. But some of y'all seem obsessed with it.

You had unhappiness? I would be totally ticked off! You would have thought I was a BAMA fan!
From 93-97 I was PO after each Florida game!

"Negas" recognized he cruited good too.....but so far we only got MCB and Taxslayer championships!? Their is more to it than cruitin.
Look, championship type coaches don't worry bout what others.think. They planning on turning their ballers loose. CBJ was to worried about what the papers and media said about him. He wants us to be proud that we even make.bowls. That's fine if your Cincy or measuring against Dooley. At UT....we are neither.
I really hope im wrong and he proves.me wrong. "Prove" is the key word
For the sake of accuracy, prior to last year's anomaly with App State, the Vols under Jones have won their season openers by 45, 31 and 29 points. Hardly a long list of "openers I'm not prepared for" as you put it.
