If Butch loses to Ga Tech out of the gate

If Butch loses to Ga Tech right out of the gate

I do not think we will lose to GA Tech but if we did, I think it does not define our season. That GA Tech offense is hard to prepare for since most colleges do not run that type of offense. Our D Ends will have to play disciplined football or it will be a long day. The good thing is we have fast outside LB's that can cover to the sideline.

TN wins a closer game than most expect.

The Vols are undefeated in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Another thing is I think a number of volnationers are assuming GT will play flawless football. Possible but unlikely, it may well prove their mistakes win the day for us.

They should need a flawless performance and us to have a bad day to keep it close.

It could happen but not likely.

I like our chances.

Go Vols!

If Butch loses to Georgia Tech in our first game, what do you, fellow Volnation members, think our season will be like?

Oh great, another meaningless poll. If Butch loses to Ga Tech I'm 100% sure we will be 0 and 1. Will the world end? Is there some miraculous possibility that some person would quit doing meaningless polls? Obviously, nothing better to do--get a life!

It looked like 120 was over confident most of the season. As if they were like "we got this", and lacked focus and sense of urgency due to having the mind set that they were the better team and they would find a way to win. ...

To being taken to OT by App St indicated we should have been blown out by all SEC teams and VT. That didn't happen
Still doesnt change the fact that the Vols came out sleep walking in most games and dug themselves into big holes. Nor does it change the fact that they had 2 downright embarrassing losses. If the team played disciplined football and came prepared they would have been 11-1.

I've heard many times that GT is so hard to prepare for, we don't see their style of play often, etc. So if we win, are we going to give CBJ kudos for a marvelous coaching job?

As long as he doesn't refer to it as "winning the inaugural MBH Championship".:good!:

A team like Ga tech is hard to prepare for. Plus, UT may not be up for this game like SEC games.

Sleepwalking is the wrong term, came out with a conservative game plan that had to be adjusted is the way I saw it.

The disciplined part I agree with, I blame that on 120 being overconfident resulting in a lack of focus and no sense of urgency.

It is a good thing that Tennessee's D line will play at its deepest and healthiest in the opener because the Vols will need all all of those bodies on the line in this game.

If Butch loses a bunch on here will be happy if the Vols lose a bunch will be sad and morale takes a hit. Volnation will be inundated with FAHR threads.

GT will beat us but we will beat the gators or dawgs to secure a 8 win season and as long as coach Jones wins 8 games the seats will be full and he will be our coach for the next 6 to 8 years, we are a 8 win football program these days as long as the seats are full that is what counts at Tennessee its all about the money not the winning look at the other sports we are average we accept average at Tennessee for some reason.:thud:The Truth speaks for it self.

Haven't even had fall practice yet. The new kids just got to campus earlier this week. And wouldn't ya just know it, some mouth breathing idiot has already chalked up the first game as a loss with three ******* MONTHS until kickoff. Just when I thought the FF couldn't possibly get any more imbecilic.....y'all go and lower the standard even further.
Dude this place has been a sh*t show the past couple months..

A poll on the over/under how long OP remains at home if he starts beating his wife would just as entertaining.

That would not be the least bit entertaining to me.

I do think a poll that asked who honestly hopes Butch loses enough to get fired this year would be more interesting than this one or yours. Only if everyone was completely honest. I think there would be less than some think, but more than some others think.

Only problem, very few would participate and a few wouldn't be honest.

GA Tech is not that good of a team. Beating them is slightly more impressive than beating MTSU. If we lose to them, the sky is falling. Not feeling miserable at all.

GA Tech beat Vandy, UK, UGA, and Va Tech last year. We nearly lost to 2 of those teams and did lose to one.

Id say they are probably a little better than MTSU.
