Why so negative all the time? Why not a poll about "if Tennessee beast GA Tech"?

If Tennessee loses some will be on here whining and declaring the sky is falling. If Tennessee wins those same folks will be on here saying GA Tech wasn't that good of a team and the sky is still falling,

Some of you must love misery.

GA Tech is not that good of a team. Beating them is slightly more impressive than beating MTSU. If we lose to them, the sky is falling. Not feeling miserable at all.

And this is the logic that puts the Negative in NegaVol.

Sooooo negative. Florida's not worth a crap, us beating them should be expected, losing to them is a travesty. Georgia is a mediocre team, we should beat them, if we lose to them we suck. Georgia Tech is MTSU with a nicer shirt, there's no honor in beating them, but if we lose, the season's ruined. USCe sucks so bad, if we lose to them, we are total trash, and if we beat them, it doesn't mean anything. LSU and A&M are over the hill, losing to them proves we have nothing going for us, and beating them proves nothing at all.

And on and on we go. When you're in the legion of the miserable, nothing short of beating Bama and going 15-0 is note-worthy, and anything less is grounds for deep, deep criticism. Oh, and anyone who says different is settling for mediocrity.

Because that's how we do it here on NegaVolNation.

For the sake of accuracy, prior to last year's anomaly with App State, the Vols under Jones have won their season openers by 45, 31 and 29 points. Hardly a long list of "openers I'm not prepared for" as you put it.

UGA loses to GT from time to time but otherwise the teams you listed are on another level than GA Tech. You are so desperate to discredit anyone who disagrees with your opinions that you have taken to just making up stuff and completely attributing sentiments and words to other posters that they never conveyed. It's no secret that I don't think Butch Jones will ever win a conference championship for us and I base that on his track record here. I doubt he can even win the East, again based on his track record. You may disagree with my opinion of Jones' ability and you're certainly welcome to put your own opinions out there although when you completely fabricate statements it just makes you look like a poster who cannot support his own opinions with facts. FWIW I'm feeling really good and pretty much misery free and nothing you post here is going to change that.

Now, that's just not true.

They didn't beat three different SEC teams last year by being the Little Sisters of the Poor.

Georgia Tech is quirky with an uncommon offense. That makes them a bit of a surprise to players who rarely face the wishbone. That alone "raises their game" a step above what their recruiting averages might show.

I agree that they're nothing special on defense. Better than MTSU, but not at the FL-UGa level, agreed. Maybe peg them somewhere around the Vandy level of D.

And their coach is wily as hell.

You put those three pieces together, quirky O, meh D, and wily coaching, and they're nothing to overlook, as you seem to be doing. They're not an earth-beater, no, but have a significantly higher degree of difficulty than MTSU.

In short, you're underselling them so that you can be negative about how we come out, win or lose.

And honestly, not many people here care about whether you personally are miserable; that's your call. A lot of us just don't appreciate you trying so hard to spread the misery around. We're a little busy being fans of our team for that.

p.s. Ranking the games this year for degree of challenge, I'd put it something like this:

Bama
...
LSU - UGa - FL (in no particular order)
...
Ga Tech - USCe
...
Ky - Vandy - Mizzou
...
3 non-power 5 teams

I see it was already pointed out that he's won all of the openers and all but one by a healthy margin. So I'm assuming you were thinking of something else, no big deal.

My question is, how did 5 of you misery loving wombats, manage to make the same mistake after reading it and give it the ol' virtual high 5?
Do you just get in such a hurry to pee on something you forget to make sure you unbutton your pants?

I don't think it would mean impeding doom for the season, but there will be civil unrest on Rocky Top. VN will be in full meltdown mode.
