Dane Bradshaw was a banger with some strength. He wasn't a perimeter player at all. Hubbs is a totally different type of player that has more athleticism & skillset. He's not suited for the 4 at all. He's a SG or SF period.
Hubbs' best offensive games come when he's posting up ~15 feet from the basket. The biggest question with him at the 4 is his ability to rebound/defend. He's athletic and strong, but will he be tough enough to bang for 20+ minutes a game?
Who said it was the NBA TGO? I think there are others with the same concerns that I have in regards to playing Hubbs at the 4.
You said he's a 2 or a 3 period. IMO he can do fine at the 4 versus most of the (non-NBA) competition. I thought that he played pretty well when he has played at the 4 in the past.
He only played the 4 sparingly because of injury time to Schofield for a few games. Yes, he did ok for a guy that's what 6'4" at PF. However, he's not got the overall game both offensively or defensively to play there all season long. That's my opinion.
Schofiled has been our PF/4. Why would we want to take him out of that role/position since he did pretty well there as a freshman? Hubbs is suited as a 3 or 2 & no other position for any significant amount of time.
He might be suited for a 2 or a 3, but "no other position" is BS. TN isn't loaded with bigs. Hubbs at the 4 can create mismatches.
We'll see TGO. I say Barnes might try him some at the PF but Schofield deserves to start at that position. Wouldn't you agree with that? With Hubbs more than likely at SF & Mostella at SG. Doesn't that sound like the more likely & fair scenario?
Hubbs success centers around being able to be a perimeter thread that can slash to he basket with occasionally posted up smaller defenders
If he plays the 4 with the approach he did last year he completely waste 2/3 of that. Hubbs can and has been a decent threat from the 3pt line and whatever position he plays this season he must have the Green light from there or his potential is completely wasted
3/4 isn't so important to me as long as he isn't a one dimensional player

It's unlikely that any positions are set this early. Team practices are still a month and a half away.
As far as starters, that search could be more chaotic than last season with this much youth and no real advantage for any player as far as talent.
We could be looking for consistency half way thru conference play.
Best rebounders and 3 point shooters will be the cream that finally rises.
