In the War Room, it was said that Grant Williams has had a great summer, and it would not be surprising to see him in the starting line-up to start the year.

IIRC I think you might be right. I remember him being the youngest in the class for some reason. He sounds a little like Howard Wood who played under Devoe. Howard was 6'7" 235 and not a super athlete but very effective. He spent a year in NBA and many years playing over seas. As I recall Williams is young . Wasn't he 16 when he signed? Does anyone remember?
Dang, kinda sucks. was hoping Alexander would improve a lot this off-season. Maybe he has, but Williams has just been better.Rob Lewis from VQ shared a few things recently after some summer workouts and feedback from coaches...
Grant Williams could very well be your starting 5 for Game 1.
Robert Hubbs is likely your starting 4, the staff likes him there, he will play some 3 as well, but as of now he's the starting 4.
Lew Evans is a guy who will play at least 20+ minutes a game, probably at both the 4&5.
So to me how I see things based on those statements and past comments and stories:
10 man rotation:
Turner/Bone
Mostella/Turner/Bowden
Phillips/Schofield
Hubbs/Evans/Schofield
Williams/Alexander/Evans
Bench guys: Fulkerson/Parker/Johnson

I felt the same way when I read Alexander hadn't gained any weight since last year. I don't see how he couldn't gain any weight with our S&C program. He really needs to be around 235-250 so he won't be out muscled in the paint.
Agreed. It's disappointing. Wish we could've kept our old s&c coach from tyndalls era. Hell, or coach c. He got the boys looking jacked.
We will have to wait and see how the whole team looks this fall before we make judgements. I'm most excited to see Williams progress physically. He had some baby fat and doesn't appear very toned. I'm hoping he comes out looking like a beast.

Hubbs starting at the #4? I don't get that. Hubbs will get eaten up inside by players much bigger & stronger than him. He can certainly play the 3 but I'm sorry but I don't have any confidence in him playing the 4. It's going to hurt him both defensively & offensively.
This will also knock Schofield back to what 3rd on the depth chart playing the 4? That's not gonna happen. Schofield should be starting at the 4 in my opinion. Either Alexander or Evans starting at the 5.
Grant Williams should be backup to Schofield at 4 & both see pretty equal playing time with Schofield maybe getting 22-24 minutes compared to Williams getting 16-18 minutes per game. Schofield is not a 2.
He's a 4 with sometimes playing the 3. Phillips is a 2 with sometimes playing the 1. Can he play the 3? Probably so, but he's better off at the 2 or part time at the 1.
I agree on one thing you have listed above. Turner should start at PG. I personally would have either Mostella or Hubbs at SG. Probably best for Mostella to start at SG while Hubbs at SF. Schofield at PF. Either Evans or Alexander at C.
That's how I see our starting 5. The bench is an educated guess. I think Johnson will end up redshirting. So, Evans/Alexander, Williams, Bone, Bowden, Fulkerson, & Parker fighting for minutes off the bench for the last 6 in the rotation of 11 players. I think they all 11 will play depending on who redshirts too though. Thanks!
Pretty sure Tyndall played Hubbs at the 4 a few games. As I remember it he played pretty well there.
It was only due to the ankle/injury problem that Schofield had there for a few games that Hubbs played the 4. The rest of the season Hubbs played either the 2 or 3.
He would probably be ok on offense with his skills & athletic ability at the 4 but on defense is where he would suffer the most.
I wasn't the one that said he did. It was the the other poster. I was referring to playing for Barnes. He's the one that mentioned Tyndall not me bud. Thanks

I went back & checked my post. I searched for Tyndall in my post & it's not there. Like I said, I was referring to Barnes myself. I didn't say his name but that's who I was talking about. I did not mention Tyndall.
