Nothing shows ignorance quite as well as using multiple exclamation points and/or question marks at the end of the sentence. It adds nothing to the sentence. It only makes you look like a 15 year old girl.

Edit: I forgot a word :thud:

I thought they all quit playing 3 weeks ago:p

From what I could see on Jumbotron looked like it was clearly with shoulder pad. I'll defer to what you and everyone else saw as I was on other side of field from play, and other endzone from Jumbotron.

I have no issue with the penalty. But overall there seems to be many more "phantom" targeting calls then genuine ones. NCAA/SEC, etc during the offseason either need to rewrite the rule to expand the wording to include everything that actually gets called (so players at least are aware of everything they may get ejected for); or have a serious recurrent training course with refs/replay officials.

I get its a very hard call to make on the field, but how some of these (not talking about tonight) get upheld after replay boggle my mind.

The thing is that the way the rule is written, any hit to the head or chest area with the defenders shoulders can be considered targeting if the offensive player is ruled a defenseless target.

Been doin good Sam...just moved to Harlan Ky 2 months ago to work for Jesus. I love it here. It is just hard getting started. Cool thing is I am finally back close to home after 15 years. We go see the family down in Knoxvegas

about every other week. I'll be able to catch a lot more home games now too, so that is a bug plus also.

You'll never leave Harlan alive

Harlan was the last place I ever wanted to go in our assembly, but they hadn't had a pastor in 18 months and the church was dying. But when I was asked to come and see if I would be interested, I came up here and God started working on my heart. I actually love the place. I don't talk about it much on here. But I owe God everything I have, and I love him for it. A lot of people talk about faith, a few actually live by it. I am just an old redneck drug addict that was saved by the infinitely loving grace of God. I'll go anywhere he wants me.

Hey, who's that white dude in the back?

Grew up just across the state line in clintwood, Virginia

I don't think he knew Martin had a chance at the ball. It was too quick. I think he was trying to break up the pass and send a message.

I agree, and also Cooper's body position probably changed when he saw Martin hawking it.

I'm not saying the end result would have been different had Martin not been in the picture, because I'm sure Randolph wanted to make a highlight hit to break up the pass.

My thought is just that those things happen extremely fast real time and the fine line between a great hit and a penalty is getting finer all the time, it seems.

If you didn't catch the OT play by Arkansas to keep the drive going on 4th down, make sure you take a look. An incredible play that won't get much hype because they didn't actually score on the play. However, it was the only reason the game continued, and just about as exciting as the Miami play with no penalties.

Who is interested to see our starting line-up this Saturday? I'm wondering if numerous starters that are banged up pretty bad don't play, unless absolutely necessary.

Bray and jawuan James were at the game tonight.

In 2012 against USCe, with time running down, Tennessee was driving down the field, with Tyler Bray at QB. I was certain we were about to win that game.

Clowney breaks free from Tiny Richardson, for one of the few times that entire night, and strip sacks Bray, ending the game.

Mirror image for USC. :)

My feed was a bit choppy, but I have no idea what the Malone drop and Pearson no look for the ball is about. I'll have to find the offensive snaps when they are uploaded to see what I missed.

Malone: 4th quarter on about the 40, Dobbs drops a beautiful ball over the top into Malone's hands as he crossed the goalline...and he just...dropped it. No defender made a play on the ball, etc. Malone just dropped it.

I was at a couples shower thing I was forced to go to during the end of second and whole third quarter, so I didn't see Von's mishap

Replay question

Watching the forward progress/fumble play live I 100% thought it was ruled correctly. Watching the replay the I also thought it was correct until you add the sound. If you listen to the sound the whistle actually blew after the ball came out.

Does the replay official have access to sound?

Doesn't have to be helmet to helmet. Just had to hit wr head. Pretty sure it was randolphs shoulder to head but definite targeting. Right call

In addition, Cooper was "defenseless." I don't know the exact rules on the targeting calls, but hitting a defenseless player that hard will get the call.

To add to Volnatic's answer, Person was running up the seam with a defender behind him. He turns to look back about the time the ball sailed by and a little over his head. He didn't have time to extend his arms and make a play on the ball. From my viewpoint in the stands the ball looked a little high. It was very similar to Josh Smith's TD catch earlier in the year. Can't remember against who. About the same area of the field if I remember correctly.

If that wasn't a fumble then neither was Kamara's. We were jobbed again.

Kamara was 100% a fumble. Now the immediate recovery would be my argument in that the defender didn't control the ball

The hand of the official went up calling forward progress stopped but I didn't hear the whistle until after the fumble.(on USCe fumble)
Which is it hand going up or whistle?

If he blew the whistle on that play it should have been blown on the Kamara play. We get jobbed every week. Here's another example.

I have no idea if official gets sound, but I made sure I listened several times to replay, and the strip absolutely happened before the whistle.

Also, that's what makes the reversal of the Kamara fumble so inconsistent. The USC player did pick it up, but he lost it, and the ball was loose again. The whistle was blown before the second USC player recovered it. Frankly, I didn't agree with that call.
