That has to be changed. How can the tackler avoid his helmet if he is already mid tackle and the QB drops his head? It's complete bull****.

I understand it sucks. But those guys have to be taught to hit the "target," which is chest to knees. Just where the game is headed.

Well taking shots that high (shoulders and up) on guys who are not looking is completely unnecessary anyway. and it's hard to control exactly where the contact is gona be made in the speed of the game. So if you go in high on a guy who doesn't even know you're coming and you get a little helmet you deserve targeting. Hit a guy in the body or waist. They should be being taught that.

Lol imagine if Iowa somehow sneaks into the playoffs. They would lose to Clemson, LSU/Bama, TCU/Baylor, etc by 50.

All the STs players wore a Volatile T shirt when we went to camp last summer. I asked if could get one.

Told they were not for sale

Are you watching? He stayed on his feet and was heading for his chest and Mccrary lowered his torso. Is the defender supposed to dislodge his own head when he tackles?

He's supposed to hit low enough that the QB can make regular moves (he dipped down maybe 6 inches at most) and not get speared in the helmet with the crown of the defender.

Exactly.

He was going to hit his chest and then the QB dropped his head into the path of the defender. It's bull****.

He can aim for an area lower than the top of his shoulder. It's not that hard.

He could, but he shouldn't have to. He is aiming for the chest, just like he should. Apparently it is hard because this situation comes up every single week.

This situation its a little different, its far worse when the QB drops to slide when the defender is already mid-tackle.

I wouldn't be surprised if Vandy beats us. I guess we will be the third team in the state this year.

I don't agree with that. He went too high. McCrary didn't drop that much.

A little high, maybe but well within the legal tackling area and IIRC, McRrary only dropped his head/shoulders to run after the defender was already engaged in the tackle.
