You think hiring a proven HC doesn't matter?

Mullen would never have come to UT his dream job was waiting at UF. He was just waiting on the call. He’s a veteran coach unlike ours . However , I believe CJP will exceed Mullen in long run due to the structure and culture he is setting up. He’s already not happen with offense staff so there will be changes until he gets what he wants in place.
He hired them. How could he not know they wouldn't work out?

You are aware that you're whining about whining, right? IMO that's okay as long as you know it.

I do that sometimes too and I think it would be fine if the whiners admitted they were whining. But they don't, they turn it around and say "youre a coach worshiper and settling for mediocrity, I demand more, I hold UTAD and our coaches accountable, I will not accept mediocrity".

Just be aware.

Florida recruits itself...Mullen has the right mentality to continue to bring in good players plus he's a good OC...very smart coach...and,

GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only reason we did not beat UF 4 straight years was Butch Jones. UF just beat LSU.
They are 5 -1 and 3 -1 in the SEC. I guess UF was loaded to begin this year?
Looks like they do not have to wait 4 years to turn it around.
I am not throwing JP under the bus. This is aimed at the UT decision makers.
You get what you pay for and UT is just not willing to do that.
It's not like they beat the GB Packers, and the season ain't over.

The mistakes that may have been made are all on the offensive side of the ball. You need a proven OC, a proven OL coach that knows the SEC. We do need some talent and we need some players to grow up. Six turnovers against Florida is the reason it wasn't a game our players looked immature and not ready to play. That is on the offensive coaches. The offense is also pulling down the defense with turnovers and lack of time of possession. Tennessee offense is an F and their play is the major reason the defense gives up as many points as they have in games thus far.
If this continues this season I see some coaching changes on the offensive side of the ball. The OL and decision making some of the play calling have been terrible.
This is true you can see the confidence in Franks now because he has Mullen calling plays instead of Nuss sorry ass

If the opponent takes the lead in the 4th they believe they can respond now instead of *****ing the bed

Also Hevesy is doing fine job with what was a soft weak OL last yr

He named UF first. He gave an example each way. 'This one has, this one hasn't yet', to show it's not a given.
Why do you always go out of your way just to be contrary about everything? 😂
Rhetorical question btw.
No he didnt, he talked about talent on Florida's roster, not the coaching ability of mullen.
See when a coach is doing good we say talent, when a coach isnt we say coaching. We have developed a loser mentality in our program, waiting on perfect conditions before we demand to see a competent football team.

Why is Pruitt even being compared to Mullen?

Both walked into completely different situations under different circumstances.

Sounds like upset people who are looking to gloat that wanted Mullen in the first place.

Some of us didnt necessarily WANT Mullen but certainly wanted a proven HC. Instead we got a HC, an OC and a DC who had never been in those positions before

Hope that clears things up a little bit.

Really?
He didn't say "coached not to quit"? A huge factor in building a team?
Interesting.

And by the way, my mentality is fine. I'm not even Pro or anti Pruitt. Just get over you lying and twisting people's words all the time.

They don’t really care about football anymore. They have the expense needle set where it is easily covered by the SEC split, bowl split, ticket revenues less than 100%. They no longer worry about the fan base and donors. Middling is safer than going for the ring and missing.

and he wanted to go to UF. What's your point?
If you believe everything that was reported about UT coaching search. Released text's and emails paint a different picture. A lot of "fake news" reported about UT coaching search. We could've had Mullen if we wanted him.

Wrong. The released texts show we wanted Mullen and then FL out flanked us and beat us to the punch. He wanted the FL job more

Not what I read. We reached out for an interview, Mullen's people said that Dan would interview, then we just stopped communicating with them. That was because the whole time the admin's guy was Schiano. That was in the released text's and emails I read. I suppose you also don't think that Brohm was not offered either. According to texts and emails he was.

We wanted Mullen. Mullen was interested but then FL move faster and he preferred FL. We then went after Schiano. Then all hell broke loose. And Brohm and several other clowns were persued during the debacle.

Show me the texts between Clint Dowdle and John Currie, that corroborate this.

From Knox News Sent. when the info was released-
"Currie pursued Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen before offering the job to Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano. Mullen and Currie arranged to talk by phone on Black Friday, the day after the Bulldogs' regular-season finale, and scheduled to meet on that Sunday. But that day, Florida reached an agreement with Mullen, and Currie turned his sights to Schiano."

This program would have been 10000 times better off with Mike Leach than with how the search turned out after he agreed to take the job and was then told he didn't have it. I'll never understand what Fulmer was thinking, or anyone else, by turning down a bonafide program changing head coach for the complete unknown.

Fulmer wanted a "two yards and a cloud of dust" guy. I also believe we'd be much further along with a proven commodity like Mike Leach. At least with Leach his odd personality would have at least made for an entertaining ride even if it didn't work out.

LOL. I said show me the actual texts. Don't quote me "fake news" reports. I'm looking for the actual texts but can't find them. I recall Clint Dowdle reaching out to John Currie and him never responding. I saw no communication between either party ever again. Didn't see Clint Dowdle ever responding saying that he chose florida ever. Within hours/minutes we had hired Schiano? Come on, do you really believe that?

What??? Moronic reply on your part. Don't believe it if you don't want to. I'd say it's pretty reliable since it's based on public records. But whatever. It's water under the bridge. We don't have Mullen and FL does. Maybe Pruitt will surpass him in a couple of years and prove to be the better coach? Who knows?

If it's public record, please show it to me. Post a link. You think Knox news posts only the gospel truth? Please show me the texts and prove me wrong.

Documents released by Tennessee trace wild football coaching search

Currie contacted Mullen's agent as early as Nov. 22, two days before Mississippi State's Thanksgiving night regular-season finale against Ole Miss. The two parties spoke via phone that Friday, the day after the MSU-Ole Miss game, and had an in-person meeting set for that Sunday. Early Saturday, with Tennessee set to finish the season against Vanderbilt that day, Mullen sent the following message to Currie: "Good luck today. Talked with Peyton last night. Look forward to seeing you tomorrow." That Sunday meeting apparently never took place, and Mullen was hired that same day at Florida.

Quote from this article more accurately portrays the texts and emails I read. It was never stated that he chose UF over UT. But again, if you can show me texts or emails proving other wise then great!
