I wouldn't say it makes no sense, he is a Tennessee guy, he wanted the job the last time around, his D just beat Bama which everyone in college football tries to do, but he did it...he's currently in the SEC, apparently a top notch recruiter in this league.

Sort of comparing apples and oranges in that one is a defensive guy, the other a QB/Passing offense guru...wish we could put them both together somehow, but that's impossible I guess.

Bump. Mike Leach makes 2.85mil a yr. And we just got turned down on a 6yr/42mil offer to Gundy. I'm gettin real irritated Currie hasn't called Leach. Forget Dave Doeren. Give us Leach or Les Miles then! This is gettin crazy

Not to take away from candidates like Tee Martin, but correct me if I'm wrong, USC doesn't even let Tee Martin play call.
And yet, we're not making a phone call to likely the greatest offensive mind of this generation?

So, Leach's DC is Alex Grinch...he was at Missouri 2012-2014 as the safeties coach, but has recruited the SEC, that's a plus. Washington State has made much improvement since his arrival.

As most know, finding a guy on the defensive side that will meld with this uptempo style offense is difficult. Looks like Leach has a good one.

Offer Leach at 6 million. He’s taken WSU to a top 25 program for goodness sake.

He is an offensive genius stuck at the second tier state school that will always be the red headed step child to the huskies. He plays in front of a 33k Home stadium that I don’t think they consistently fill or didn’t before he go there.

If you take the Gundy MOU and scratch out Gundy and write in Leach with a damn crayon he will sign it and be in Knox Vegas by sundown Wednesday.

Why we haven’t talked to him yet I don’t know. If we don’t talk to him by weeks end it’s more negligence by UTAD ad far as I’m concerned.

Tee is their OC. He calls the plays. How is Leach the greatesg offensive mind?

Gundy was offered 7 mil............if they tried Leach not sure how they could come close to that kind of money.......Leach knows as does everyone how much was offered........if they offer him 5 or 5.5 you think he would take it.....now? I highly doubt it.......3rd, 4th, maybe 5th choice and way less money than was offered to others.

LOL this whole thing is so dumb.......they were so quiet and so closed lipped about Greg...........and that was the frekin one that needed to be "open" or leaked.....now they are open with Gundy and he said no........heck Currie a guy like him could be a quiet deal......and if it didn't work at least there would be less leverage for every other coach.

I would be thrilled to get this done! You know this thread started with insider info . Way back at the beginning of October i thought to myself “self, you know we could do a lot worse than Mike Leach” and of course I agreed with my source . So I have it on good authority , and now so do you !

I’m hoping we land Leach or Jimbo and if those fail we end up with Sumlin. Chad Morris, Tee Martin, and Dave Doeren sound like terrible hires at this point. I have mixed thoughts about Miles and Brohm.

I think that's weird.

Seems like daddy Guarantano thinks so too. He sent his son off to play for one and is mad he isn't getting the other.
