Why not Mike Leach?

Mike Leach and Les Miles are the 2 most solid, respectable, and winning options we have that would actually accept the job. I'd take either at this point in a heartbeat before this mess gets further out of hand. Listen to the fans Currie! I can't believe Currie is THIS out of touch with the proper calls to make. Schiano shoulda been below Leach and Miles in the first place!

He squashed "Tennessee" rumors a few days ago..........but could be headed to Ark.....or he stays put.

I don't think he'll come here but I think he would be a good fit. So what if he's weird or gives odd interviews. As long as he wins, he can say whatever he wants.

No, he quashed that there were even rumors because he hadn't heard about UT interest. Which means that dumb ass Currie hasn't even talked to him. He has not rejected UT. My hunch is that he is dying to prove that the SEC is not special and that his system can work just like it did, offensively at least, at Kentucky in 1997-98. I cannot believe some of the legit, bigger name proven coaches that might take this job who haven't even been approached apparently, while Currie zeroes in on Schiano and Morris.

He is an offensive genius stuck at the second tier state school that will always be the red headed step child to the huskies. He plays in front of a 33k Home stadium that I don’t think they consistently fill or didn’t before he go there.

If you take the Gundy MOU and scratch out Gundy and write in Leach with a damn crayon he will sign it and be in Knox Vegas by sundown Wednesday.

Why we haven’t talked to him yet I don’t know. If we don’t talk to him by weeks end it’s more negligence by UTAD ad far as I’m concerned.

This x 1000!

Mike wins games but not championships. He'd be fun and interesting though.

Look at the school he's at. It's not a championship level program. That's not his doing. He's blew expectations there out of the water

I'm ready to give up on it. Currie is incompetent at best. I am wondering if he is going to torpedo the search because he knows he should be fired for the way he handled Schiano.

I'm just waiting for the announcement of Dooley 2.0

I am a little confused. This is the Mike Leach whose current win-loss record is 38-37 with Washington State, right? Even if you look back at his overall record at Texas Tech, he only had one year that stood out (2008 11-2). Most seasons he was right at 9-4 or 8-5. That is the same record that got our last coach in hot water and led to his firing. Why is this fanbase so bipolar on this now idiotic coaching search?

It's not just about what you do, but where you do it. He's out performed expectations at both schools he's been the head coach. Look at what those schools have done without him.

On top of that, you're intentionally using a misleading statistic (his overall record) instead of his record after his first 2-3 years at a school. Both places when he came in were horrible and he had to build those programs.

you have to realize that winning 9 games at a school like TT or WSU is a big deal. both schools football programs were absolute trash when he got there. imagine if he had the resources a school like UT can provide, as well as the recruits. not to mention, sadly, our football program is kind of trash right now...maybe we need a guy like leach who has turned programs around

People need to remember Mike Leach has a law degree. To lawyers the courts are just another vehicle to work thru. Lawyers view lawsuits totally different than the average joe.

Now the thing that absolutely scared the living hell outta TTU admin was him hiring a firm to dig up dirt on the admin. It terrified them. Again, to a lawyer PI stuff is just another tool.

This guy is a different cat. Make no mistake about that. He WILL stand up for himself and even go on the attack. Very much like how he runs his offense.
