Why not Mike Leach?

See.. y'all need to learn to aim a bit lower..
We could, and probably will, do a lot worse. I'm not asking for a national title, or a conference title.. just give me a winning record and make them a force to be reckoned with and a legit spot in top 10 that is deserved.

Than you can go for more..
We're already bottom of the barrel

So he's quiet and may be a Catholic so he's not a fit here?

He's as bad as or a worse fit than Leach. If you think Leach is weird, at least he has a personality. If we were in the Top 15 and our coach said something funny that went viral, 90%+ on here would love it.

Like Leach, Peterson isn't a Southern Protestant good old boy. He's just boring. And I don't believe he (nor his wife) would want to come to ETN...and Leach would jump at the oppotunity.

Mike Leach Views Tennessee as a top 5 job in the country and truly a dream job. Anyone that wouldn't want Leach does not know football. He would build Tennessee back to a national power.

Leach would most certainly make it fun around UT again plus he would bring an air raid offense that is about as exciting as any around...Could be terrifying for teams like UF to deal with...I am more comfortable with him than a lot of the other candidates we have left on the board.

Leach would be fun to have on offense, but we'd win nothing of consequence with a couple of 52-38 type losses on the schedule.

Why not? Because we need a great football coach, not a good one.

And those just hoping to have a winning record should follow butch to wherever he winds up. That's not what Tennessee football is about or has ever been about and it's part of the reason our stadium looks like 100,000 people going to a support group as opposed to an sec football game.

I am 100% in favor of hiring Mike Leach. The guy has done less with more his whole career, and Tennessee definitely falls into the “less” category after this season.

Hard to believe that a guy who has never won his conference in 15 years of coaching would be able to come in and compete against Saban.

Leach has never had a top 15 recruiting class in his entire career. The SEC would eat Leach alive. Plus with his previous history at TT of abusing his players and getting fired for cause - no way Currie hires this character.

Butch Jones is a great recruiter.

You could put Nick Saban himself in Lubbock or Pullman and he'd never get a top 15 class either.

Has any coach at TTU or WSU had a top 15 recruiting class?

Is this "history of abusing players" that you mentioned the Adam James incident? The one that got him fired for cause, for which he sued TTU and the case was discharged (before any evidence was presented or arguments made) because the TX Supreme Court ruled that TTU had soverign immunity and couldn't be sued for damages?

What about Craig James? Did you see him on Gameday this morning? Or on Fox's college football coverage? You didn't because he's such an asshat that no network will have him.

Dismissed...
