Everyone knew the Big 12 would be in danger of collapse when this talk started. Though if you pull from the AAC to the Big 12 then you take from the AAC and don’t replace as well in the Big 12. Yes it would help the smaller schools but it wouldn’t help the Big 12 newly as much. It’ll be interesting for sure to see how this shakes out in the years to come.I had a thought last night that the Big 12 is in serious danger of losing Power 5 status, doing serious damage to their TV rights and knocking them out of the NY6 bowls.
Perhaps they should consider the SEC could be a big help to their long term viability and more likely to attract, say, Cincinnati and UCF. Without that P5 status, a move by those two would be a lateral move. SEC support may go a long way.
In other words, be careful poking the bear.

Yeah it might crush them but I don’t the the SEC doing that. We tend to play fair with everyoneTrue. I was thinking mainly about if they lose their P5 status may be more massive as opposed to staying at the P5 table with lesser teams. Think of the damage if the SEC pretty much says no games with the Big 12 and goes with the AAC for bowl matches. That would crush the Angry 8, don't you think?
I personally don’t think they have any intention of keeping their word and playing through 2024. Looks like this plan has been devised for months. Surely they anticipated there would be litigation. Not a lawyer just common sense. That’s the most sound reply that anyone had to my comment. That I can get down with. Honestly it all boils down to whether they want to honor their word or not. We’ll learn much in the coming days.

On one hand I like that Texas and OU will add a lot of marquee games in the conference. On the other this monopoly ESPN has over college football is slowly destroying all the pageantry and tradition of the sport.
I agree. It is going to take at least one or two years to figure out how many conference games to play per season, and alter everyone's schedules. How many years did it take to get everything locked in when A&M and Missouri joined in?
I totally agree with you!! Change is not always for the best. Since they took NASCAR out of the south it has been on a downhill slide and will never be the same. Sometimes I need an interpreter to understand what those northern race car drivers are saying!Hasn't been since AR joined and with the addition of Mizzu for sure.
