When will OK and Texas officially join the SEC?

I had a thought last night that the Big 12 is in serious danger of losing Power 5 status, doing serious damage to their TV rights and knocking them out of the NY6 bowls.

Perhaps they should consider the SEC could be a big help to their long term viability and more likely to attract, say, Cincinnati and UCF. Without that P5 status, a move by those two would be a lateral move. SEC support may go a long way.

In other words, be careful poking the bear.

The B12 collapse was inevitable with our without uTa and OK heading to the SEC. If not us it would have been Pac12, B1G or ACC taking them in.

Yeah it might crush them but I don’t the the SEC doing that. We tend to play fair with everyone

I agree. It is going to take at least one or two years to figure out how many conference games to play per season, and alter everyone's schedules. How many years did it take to get everything locked in when A&M and Missouri joined in?

The tradition is mostly those things created by the individual schools. That should be easy to maintain. As to the "pageantry?" Ever since fat guys with checkerboard overalls and no shirts started showing up, that went out the door.

This will certainly speed up their entry into the SEC. Plus, SEC would move quicker to add other schools to the conference, big time programs.

they joined SEC in August and November 2011. They were playing in the SEC in 2012.

Oklahoma and Texas will be in SEC playing in 2022. JMO

I totally agree with you!! Change is not always for the best. Since they took NASCAR out of the south it has been on a downhill slide and will never be the same. Sometimes I need an interpreter to understand what those northern race car drivers are saying!
