We didn’t turn it over on downs. We scored. So what’s your pointWith a $4.5 million a year contract for 7 years, he will have a lot of Oregon in him for the next couple of seasons, no accountability, zero responsibility for his on the job learning baffoonery, a high school coach knows you need points in first possession overtime, if you get beat with the touchdown that is how overtime works, but to get beat by a field goal turning it over on downs, that is embarrassing, this is your first indication Heupel has a ceiling
So.... are becoming a gator fan or something? We really don't need you around here. No, watched it from 236 in Nissan Stadium, felt bad for the guy, he overthought basic football philosophy several times today, ended up losing a meaningless bowl game in an embarrassing way, in front of the midstate recruits and a national TV audience, the only thing sadder was watching Burrell get two pass interference flags in a row only to get humiliated on a single coverage fall down TD romp by a freshman receiver Tennessee probably wouldn't recruit anyway, you can spin it all day, but Tennessee flopped as a 5 point favorite in front of a home crowd, Tennessee fans expected more with 20 extra days of practice, meaningless doesn't excuse the embarrassment in Nashville
So when there is a big scrum, the zebras would have to decide to stop the play based on when they see a guy being pulled as opposed to being pushed? That sounds a little suspect to me.Someone was saying that there is a rule where if a player starts pulling a teammate, as Fant pulled Wright, forward progress is automatically stopped. I've never heard of that rule.
Some fans have ceilings of knowledge as well. Pretty sure we just found yours. And it’s pretty low. With a $4.5 million a year contract for 7 years, he will have a lot of Oregon in him for the next couple of seasons, no accountability, zero responsibility for his on the job learning baffoonery, a high school coach knows you need points in first possession overtime, if you get beat with the touchdown that is how overtime works, but to get beat by a field goal turning it over on downs, that is embarrassing, this is your first indication Heupel has a ceiling
Yeah I'm with you. I don't GAS about the 'championship'. It's a farce anyway. I might watch some of the Kensucky game, but that would be about it.However, we seem to corner the market on bad refs. They cost us at least 2 games this year. I'm done with college football this year. Not watching anymore. Don't care who wins/loses CFP.![]()
The stadium was rocking! It’s pretty bad when the crowd notices the missed calls, bad calls , flops , and bad spots….Inconsequential? That stadium sounded loud on TV but I guess we just need to start opting out of these ridiculous Inconsequential bowl games moving forward.
I guess you thought the penalty differential between us and Purdue was right also. We had 15 penalties and they had 4. It was a lot more that happened than the blown call. This crew was horrible the entire game and then Purdue player walking and pointing to sideline and the coach tells him to take a knee and then all of sudden we can run a play and the previous play all of sudden was reviewed as to if we was able to hike the ball that play don’t get reviewed either. End of the day this crew was horrible and we UT didn’t execute like they should have.
Defensive holding at the very least should have been called but the ball was in the air when Tillman had the back of his jersey pulled a foot away from his back. So I would have called PI.I'll have to watch that play again. I seem to remember that I thought interference should have been called on it.
On top of everything already mentioned, the refs also never seemed to consider whether balls were catchable on any of the PIs called early in the game, but did consider it late on a potential DPI against us. I felt like a few of the DPIs called against us were not catchable.
I normally don't do this, but I have a conspiracy theory about the NCAA. Since Tennessee did its due diligence and conducted its own investigation, and coaches/players involved were fired or transferred out, the NCAA feels left out of the process. Because of this, the NCAA has informed the SEC and other conferences to send their worst crews to work Tennessee games. You know, the "we'll get them one way or the other" method. Crazy, I know. Excessive Jack Daniels and BVS will do that to a person. However, we seem to corner the market on bad refs. They cost us at least 2 games this year. I'm done with college football this year. He grabbed his shirt out of desperation and it stretched out over a foot from his body. Everybody saw it but the man in stripes staring at it. The commentators couldn’t believe it. It was a blatant grab and a call that should never be missed. But somehow if we even touch or breath on someone it gets called. Pure worthless and very inconsistent officiating. Pure suckage! We didn’t play our best and I give Purdue credit for playing a good game and we beat ourselves. But that does not excuse a disgraceful bowl performance by the officials. They don’t deserve to call the toilet bowl.I'll have to watch that play again. I seem to remember that I thought interference should have been called on it.

Even though we have our rivalries, which Run Deep, the SEC sticks together, in the end. Thanks for digging up this info. It just goes to show the nation seen we got screwed, which means recruits also saw it. Here's to hoping for an even better (Defensive) recruiting class next year!Texags:

There's many more where that came from.
I can tell you this is true. It is almost never called. It's only to be called in extremely blatant situations where the runner, as judged by officials, has absolutely no chance of gaining additional yardage on their own. I found a story about it because it happens frequently and is universally not called, the last time it was found to have been called as of 2020, was 1991. They interviewed a former official who said he never called it at any level, a single time in 40 years as an official.
Get out…we all know it was a TD.
