So when there is a big scrum, the zebras would have to decide to stop the play based on when they see a guy being pulled as opposed to being pushed? That sounds a little suspect to me.

So the refs have instituted a new “transitive property of being down!” If your knee touches someone who is touching the ground, you are considered down?!?!
between that, the holding ( uncalled) and the fake injuries, that win should be vacated and the refs removed from their jobs!

The stadium was rocking! It’s pretty bad when the crowd notices the missed calls, bad calls , flops , and bad spots….
No accountability for Referees is the #1 problem with sports in general….
The line was 7…. Refs was never going to let it get above it in the 4th quarter… just sayin…
Have to keep Purdue in it!!

I guess you thought the penalty differential between us and Purdue was right also. We had 15 penalties and they had 4. It was a lot more that happened than the blown call. This crew was horrible the entire game and then Purdue player walking and pointing to sideline and the coach tells him to take a knee and then all of sudden we can run a play and the previous play all of sudden was reviewed as to if we was able to hike the ball that play don’t get reviewed either. End of the day this crew was horrible and we UT didn’t execute like they should have.

I'm for firing the refs that botched this one, but we had our chances to put this game away or at least extend it in OT. Staff failed on both counts. And we've seen bad clock management earlier in the season. time for young coaches to grow up and put games away.
All in all, great season for me. Better things ahead.

On top of everything already mentioned, the refs also never seemed to consider whether balls were catchable on any of the PIs called early in the game, but did consider it late on a potential DPI against us. I felt like a few of the DPIs called against us were not catchable.

Meaningless bowl game? I don’t think it was meaningless for those in attendance. A record Music City Bowl crowd showed up and was loud the whole game. This was an expensive game and I am assuming people didn’t put their money down to go sit on their hands. Everyone I could see from my seats were really into the game the whole time. Sure looked like their were a huge majority of Vols there.

I normally don't do this, but I have a conspiracy theory about the NCAA. Since Tennessee did its due diligence and conducted its own investigation, and coaches/players involved were fired or transferred out, the NCAA feels left out of the process. Because of this, the NCAA has informed the SEC and other conferences to send their worst crews to work Tennessee games. You know, the "we'll get them one way or the other" method. Crazy, I know. Excessive Jack Daniels and BVS will do that to a person.

He grabbed his shirt out of desperation and it stretched out over a foot from his body. Everybody saw it but the man in stripes staring at it. The commentators couldn’t believe it. It was a blatant grab and a call that should never be missed. But somehow if we even touch or breath on someone it gets called. Pure worthless and very inconsistent officiating. Pure suckage! We didn’t play our best and I give Purdue credit for playing a good game and we beat ourselves. But that does not excuse a disgraceful bowl performance by the officials. They don’t deserve to call the toilet bowl.

Even though we have our rivalries, which Run Deep, the SEC sticks together, in the end. Thanks for digging up this info. It just goes to show the nation seen we got screwed, which means recruits also saw it. Here's to hoping for an even better (Defensive) recruiting class next year!
