What did you have for dinner II?

Maybe honey on top and baked in, but that's not a real southern sweet cornbread. A Hickory BBQ hole in the wall I frequented in Abilene, TX made the corn ear shaped sweet cornbread sticks to perfection to go with their BBQ. Should have same moist texture as regular cornbread. Only enough sugar to get to to the sweet side, but not pastry sweet. I've been known to heat mine with butter and drizzle honey on it, but it should not come out of the oven that way. I will also make cornbread with creamed corn and it will be moist and barely a tad sweet, but that's not a sweet cornbread.

Skillet cornbread served with honey at a NC BBQ spot. It's sweet but I love it!

First baseball game of my sons senior season. So starts the 6 week blitz of 30 games. So, last night was a Signature Chicken Sandwich from Zaxby. Their version of the CFA/Popeye's offering. I tried Popeyes sandwich. Meh. Didn't seem to measure up anywhere close to the hype. Zaxby's was very good. But, there's that flavor in the CFA sandwich no one can get close to. There won't be as much stovetop slavery at my house for a few weeks. However, he just missed putting one out last night and settled for a double. It's all good.
