We got hosed by Ref Joe Lindsay

This team Has been a pleasure to follow this season. They are such a class act and to have their season taken away by an official is downright atrocious, but typical for Tennessee sports. The foul on the 3 pointer was complete BS. In addition, the ball went off their players ankle and the officials couldn't even get it right after reviewing the call. Joe Lindsay was the official that stole our Elite 8 and possible Final 4. We are now 3-3 this year in games he has called. So 3 of our 6 losses were officiated by the same official. He called 6 of our 7 fouls in the first half tonight. Joe Lindsay also called the foul on LaMonte Turner with 1 second left that let Purdue tie the game which even the pundits are already talking about what a bad call that was. Let that sink in for a minute. Thanks Joe Lindsay for ruining what was going to be an historic season in Tennessee basketball history.
why do some vols fans always blame the refs when you lose a football or basketball game? there is not a conspiracy against vols sports teams.

Next rule change after TN gets jobbed...

Teams are not allowed to meet with their coaches during official's reviews. ESPECIALLY when they are out of TOs and get to draw up an inbounds play with less than 3 seconds left.

They played bad in the first half not tight. Perdue was having its way. Yes they ended up playing much better but the fact is they did not play up to their potential. If they would have played good the whole game, we win. They didnt so we lost.

They played tight. Jump shots weren’t falling that normally fall. It’s ok to say they played tight; they are human. We normally score more than 28 in a half. Free throw misses were some nerves too. It happens.

I don't say there is a conspiracy against the Vols or anyone. The NCAA has some officials who aren't very good and some who are corrupt to the point of betting and taking bribes. Difference?

Not always. But college officiating, specifically SEC, has been horrendous for years. The conference is too arrogant to care. When your head of football officials lives in Birmingham, and your last head of basketball officials lived in Lexington, you don’t even pretend to hide it. It’s quite remarkable it has been this bad for this long.

NCAAT usually evens out, but we had an SEC official do our game tonight.

Not that you could review this but it's not clear that right heel is on the ground. Not that the refs got this call right to begin with.

Ref was too busy getting ready to blow his whistle for phantom foul to look at his feet.

I heard the announcers say they were just reviewing the time left on the clock, not the out of bounds play. The replay of the out of bounds seemed to clearly show the ball go off the Purdue players foot, so I can't imagine they reviewed that. Made the difference in the game.

Calm down. If the guys would have played hard for 40 minutes, we would have won. We didn’t put a full game together all season. Our seniors came out flat. Our star player fouled when he didn’t need to in the first and second half. Our point guard with elite speed didn’t use his advantage much(he got blocked on a few possessions, but he could have used his speed to wear them down). Our top free throw shooter missed five free throws. Our coach never attempted to adjust his defense, even after every team seemed to shoot over their season average from three. The refs weren’t great, but we didn’t put ourselves in a position to win that game.

Unfortunately this is the truth. Take care of OUR OWN business and the refs can't steal it.

So on the last series you had an out of bounds ball that could have been called our way (no good replay angle), an obvious missed 5 second call, and a phantom jump shot foul

and their guy completely shoved Lemonte to get open - it wasn't a light bump - it was a shove.

For a 3rd time, the sideline angle deceptively showed it going off the lifted left leg, when in actuality it was nowhere close.

I don't disagree that we played terrible in the first half, but we played much better in the second half, enough to go ahead in the game. The missed out of bounds call that went off the Purdue players foot changed the game. With the right call there, Tennessee would have had the ball with a 2 point lead and 2.5 seconds left, and I think we would have won.

Not sure what this attachment is, but it is not the replay that showed the ball going off the players foot. That replay pretty clearly showed the ball hitting the Purdue player's foot, and was from an end court angle, not a mid court angle like this appears to be. This attachment doesn't show anything useful.

It happens, but not to championship teams. These NCAA teams are playing balls out. How many 3's did that guy hit closely guarded 5 or 6? Watching the other games, Michigan is the only team UT would have a chance to beat.
