Watch,, it!! Health, exercise etc.

I don't need any right now but the next pair I buy will be these. Maybe a different color. Maybe not. They're getting excellent reviews.

Here's where I started after figuring out how to raise my low Aerobic short.

I don't have a step counter, but I just did 2 and a half laps around our subdivision. Didn't want to go to the gym and leave Tiffany, plus I love being outside in this weather. Finished with some weights in the garage.

I read an article yesterday about the VO2 max numbers on a Garmin and Apple watch compared to a real test. It didn't say which models of either were used.

Long story short, it said they were both off and couldn't be accurate because they can't accurately measure oxygen intake like the real test which requires a face mask.

That said, over a 6 month test wearing both even though the numbers were wrong, as they went up the real numbers did also and the doctors said even though the numbers were off he should follow the trend because it was correct.

Thats what I've maintained all along. Not necessarily about the VO2 Max, but errthang else. But this was just on the VO2 max.

I've still got 99.9% confidence in the GPS accuracy and not much less in the sleep numbers. Everything else I'm confident in the consistency 💯.

My VO2 Max actually went up a point today after being at 38 for almost 6 weeks.

@Behr I still need to get better understanding of a lot of the anaerobic/workout levels, but one thing I follow really closely is my sleep.

A couple times I’ve gotten a lot of deep sleep, REM and sleep length. But it still tells me my body didn’t properly recharge? What else am I supposed to get getting there?

I just spent 30 minutes typing a response. Way tldr. Lol.

I started improving everything when I got sick on the 20th of February and feel like I have it on track just this past Monday.

There is so much tied together and I don't know how much you know and don't know.

Stress and awake/restlessness were my biggest issue with recovering and readiness. I think I got that back on track as of this week. Awake/restlessness is still "fair" but that's better than poor. Lol.

I started by clicking each category under sleep score and reading Garmins comments/suggestions and letting it guide me.

I've had to sacrifice under the awake/restlessness part, but it seems to be improving.

My readiness yesterday morning was 83, stress 13, Body battery 98%. I ran 3 miles yesterday morning and 2 last night and it was a "rest" day, so my numbers are lower this morning (readiness 67, stress 13, body batter 94%, but still not bad. I'm trying to train my watch to give me different rest days.

Any specific questions?

I had 3 awakenings over 5 minutes last night. I think it's because of leg cramps which is because of dehydration. I stopped drinking caffeine past 12 noon and drink nothing past 7pm except a sip of water to take my meds before bed. But I've never been much on drinking water so I'm thinking ...well it's obvious. Buts that's going to be hard for me.

My mom’s knee surgery is next week and I’m taking the week off work to help with getting her to and from, etc. I’ll hopefully finally have time to dig deeper into this. Be prepared for a lot of questions next week

I struggle to get more deep sleep. Those little strips of navy blue are few and far between. That’s when the immune system is doing its thing, so that’s my focus. The others pretty well take care of themselves. Total sleep minimum target is 6.5 hours; happier with 7+.

Hope everything goes well with the surgery.

I'll be happy to answer all I can.

Just got finished chatting with Garmin. I'm confused because he was trying to answer me without answering me.

I asked if they had a definite shipping date yet.

Screenshot cut off "receive the product".

He responded "the warehouse is where it all happens".

Obviously it's different for all, but for me I think if I can get my awake/restlessness controlled all the others will improve.

This was Saturday night..my sleep score was 75.

18% deep sleep?! That’s incredible! I’d love to get there.

Here’s my average for the last month (about how long I’ve had this watch.) That average 7% represents an average whopping 31 minutes/ night.

It used to be a bit better, around 10-12% of each night’s sleep, but I developed a heart arrhythmia 🙄 6 weeks ago when my mom’s health worsened, and it hasn’t gone away. (PACs = premature atrial contractions/ extra beats, not particularly dangerous, but annoying as hell - lub dub, lub dub, … lub… lub dub, DUB DUB DUBDUBDUB, lub dub, . . . . . . lub)

Maybe he’s saying that once it hits the warehouse, it’s going out almost immediately. IME shipping departments aren’t really a thing anymore with smaller consumer items like laptops and fancy watches (as opposed to, say, leather couches.)

“Ship out towards the end of next week” to me means it’s going on a UPS/FedEx truck next Thursday or Friday, and you receive it the following Monday or Tuesday, depending on the location of the warehouse and what type of shipping they promised.

But then, I am by nature the world’s most idiotically cheerful optimist, and I sometimes (rarely, but sometimes) get Sad Surprises.

Well, others are getting theirs... @volfanbill

From everything I've read, and I've read about errthang, it's exactly what I expected and maybe a little better. In the most direct sun light I was expecting it to be a little worse than the 955. But this seems to give me hope. The screen size and overall case size I think are going to be a nice surprise.

My deep sleep is my trouble spot and I’m actually going to ask my PCP about changing my sleep medicine if she thinks there’s something that will allow for better deep sleep. 0D7F8645-E876-4989-8994-C7D7A0DBEF97.png

Well mine still isn’t saying it’s shipped 😞

I did learn that I was wrong about watch bands. They purposefully vaguely state the watch “must be conservative”. So basically the definition of “conservative” is up to my commander’s discretion. I’m going to buy another band whenever the watch finally ships

Mine hasn't shipped and it still says 5-8 weeks. Lol.

I don't know, but of all the things my Samsung, Garmin and the internet suggested to help me get better sleep, I think my consistency in bedtime and awake time, the eye mask and earplugs have done the most good.

It's hard to say about everything I've done because some were tried at the same time so who knows. I still have off nights but they're not often.

I'm trying to drink more water this weekend and se if that helps my awakenings and restlessness. Last night I had 2 awakenings over 5 minutes and 24 restlessness moments.
