It took almost a decade for the Army to finally admit I had real sleep issues and even then it was only because something else showed that my BP didn’t drop overnight. So I do all the sleep hygiene stuff: no electronic lights in my bedroom, black as possible, fan going, white noise playing, regular sleep schedule, slowly prepare for bed by winding down each night, etc. Only thing I don’t do is a mask. I think the white noise helps me the most.Mine hasn't shipped and it still says 5-8 weeks. Lol.
I don't know, but of all the things my Samsung, Garmin and the internet suggested to help me get better sleep, I think my consistency in bedtime and awake time, the eye mask and earplugs have done the most good.
It's hard to say about everything I've done because some were tried at the same time so who knows. I still have off nights but they're not often.
I'm trying to drink more water this weekend and se if that helps my awakenings and restlessness. Last night I had 2 awakenings over 5 minutes and 24 restlessness moments.

I have a dehumidifier that doubles as white noise but my ocd sometimes wanted to concentrate on it until I got stressed out wondering if it was running correctly or too loud. That's why the ear plugs work for me. They muffle everything. I can still hear it but it's toned down and not distracting. The mask is more of a security type feeling than an actual blackout mask. Weird but with ear plugs and mask I feel like I'm ready to sleep! Lol.
Oh yeah I forgot. For at least 3 years I take a cap full of DG, Walmart (equate) or Amazon version of Cherry flavored NyQuil. I know for a fact it helps. I don't measure it anymore I just take a small swig.
Sometimes white noise is too high-pitched for me. I like this, but I’m not the only one in this bed trying to sleep soundly, so I just use it when I study:
This is what I've been listening to the past several nights with my new headband/mask with speakers. I use earplugs too. I know .....but it works good.
Well I hope you get it figured out. I used to not be able to sleep at all.I’m prescribed 10mg of Doxepin and compared to where I was three years ago prior to getting it prescribed it’s world’s better. If you remember me telling you a couple weeks ago, I had a stomach illness. A year ago I had a horrible stomach illness and was prescribed Promethazine. I took one one night I was sick around 7… then took there doxepin around 9:30 like always. Slept better than I have in years, thought maybe it was just from being sick and so tired. But two nights later the nausea was back and I took the same medication. Again, slept like a dream. The Google says promethazine is only supposed to be used temporarily, so I’m going to ask before just taking it with more regularity.
