Dear @Behr

I’m not ignoring so the watch settings stuff. I’m actually fascinated by how detailed you are with it.

I’m also still slammed crazy busy as an Army recruiter and can’t devote the time it properly deserves to discuss with you and learn more. Especially in this setting. But I will have questions and thoughts one day soon

Well the being so detailed is the result of a perfect storm for lack of a better phrase. OCD is the heart of it, but I'm stuck in 162-166 lb. range and no matter what I do I can't get out of it. Then there's the other gains as a result of changing my "training" that has motivated me to get more organized in my routine, and that's been awesome.

Something I decided this morning that we kinda talked about and I think it's more important than we (I) thought, but I'm going to start turning mine off when I charge it. That way I'll be on a schedule as not to forget. I'll find out soon enough, but I think it may improve accuracy in certain areas specifically heart rate monitoring. Supposedly it's been improved on the 965 anyway, but I can't say this for sure yet, but it seemed outta wack this morning for the first part of my routine and after thinking about all the reasons why, I came to the conclusion that it's possible it's because I haven't restarted in about a week.

Anyway, blah blah blah. The first part of my routine this morning was Low Aerobic and I couldn't get my heart rate in the zone. It was frustrating. Turned it off and back on and did the next half and it was right on the money. Kwinky dink?

From everything I've read Samsung, Apple, Fitbit and Garmin are all solid in sleep monitoring. The differences are will be in the info you get and the app layouts. They all 4 are supposedly solid wrist based heart monitors. I know from experience the Garmin and Samsung are excellent. I'm partial to Samsung and Garmin. Garmin has the best GPS of them all according to reports I've read and Apple is right there. Samsung is good but not great.
You can get everything you want in a Samsung or a Garmin for under $200.
After more research, I will probably go with a Samsung, but I think I'll wait until I upgrade my phone. Some of the features I want are only available when you have a paired Galaxy phone (mostly health tracking). I currently have a Pixel, but I've been looking at the Google watch as well.

Do you know if the LTE watch versions come with additional fees from the carriers, or is it included with the current mobile plan? I did see the watches share the same phone number and aren't assigned a new one, so that gives me hope the service is included with no additional costs.

Ah, I didn't even consider the phone thing. Duh on my part. I haven't read much about the Pixel watch because I was never interested in it, it's too small and I don't like the looks of it.

It's my understanding there is an additional fee with the LTE but I'm not positive. That was something I looked at briefly but wasn't interested in anyway. I think it's really hard on the battery and just no important to me.

I found it ...LTE is $10/month. Probably not worth it.

My main concern was the battery usage. I never need my watch that I don't have my phone anyway, so yeah, it wasn't worth it to me.

If you do end up going with the Samsung 4, I highly recommend the 44mm.

My watch can be a phone it’s in wifi range of my phone phone, which I used to use to see what time it was (life has grown complex). I could have spent an extra $100 for it to be cellular but wasn’t interested, and like you, I wasn’t clear if I’d also have to cough up monthly money to Verizon.

I've got the non lte black version of that. The 4 is the exact same watch now with updates. With the exception of a few small frills you'd never notice and the battery. I have both and I like the 4 better...except for the battery.
You have the 5 & 4?

The classic on the right is in a case. Actually they both are but the 5 is a different type.

Thats a sweet watch. I like it better than the 5 pro. It's got the rotating bezel which they didn't use on any of the watch 5 series and it pissed off a bunch of Galaxy watch fans. So they're putting it on the new watch 6. You can use the rotating bezel to scroll instead of touching the screen. It's cool but not a deal breaker for me, but I like it's look.
