Von Pearson Update

I served a couple of years at Denbigh high school in the 70's where Von went. It was a trash school then and I'm sure is a trash school now. I'm pretty sure that Von grew up as part of a trash society. I'm guessing that his upbringing didn't go far away once he arrived in Knoxville.
He was given an opportunity and blew it. So long.

You served...... good God, get real! Would it serve you to actually think before posting? You served..........

The Tennessean is a complete and utter dumpster fire. They're like ambulance chasing attorneys, or gossip magazines. There is zero substance or moral reasoning behind their harassment of local universities. It's all to gain readers on their website. They can't survive on stories like community service and team bonding activities. Negative news generates more dollars for them. That's it.

The Tennessean has been dead to me since the 90s and will remain so until The Original Douche Bag ( can you say that on VN?) David Climer goes away.

Spoke with a well known attorney in the Knoxville area Tuesday. He pretty much confirmed what we have heard that the DAs office really has nothing to try Von on. It's a mystery to him as to why this case hasn't been dropped already.

There isn't a case to be dropped. He hasn't been charged, unless I've missed something MAJOR. Do people expect the DA's office to hold a press conference every time someone isn't charged with a crime?

Edit: If he's been charged and I've missed it, I apologize.

Wow! This has to be the most over privalage, silver spooned post I've seen on here.

Where you grew up and/or live doesn't determine the person you are. Only you can control that. Just because you "served a couple years" in that area doesn't make you an expert on everyone that has ever lived there.
Just WOW!

At this point it is a lot easier for me to just go with the assumption that Von will not be with the team this season. I am hoping that's not the case because I think he has game changing potential but until I see differently, I say he is gone.

Zehr27 said he will be back with the team. He is reliable.

I keep seeing posts on this thread, but when I open it up it's glutted with complaints about there being no updates. :hmm:

As long as there is an ON-GOING INVESTIGATION, he isn't cleared. Is that clear enough for you?

Idea! Let's bite each other's heads off!!! That will get VP back on the field....

I had to go back about a dozen pages just to figure out the actual update. Us VFL's get excited don't we :)

Having read through the posts I'd like to touch on a couple things (yeah I know).

If VP qualifies for a RS it won't matter. The guy is a near mirror image of cordarelle Patterson. He is waaaay to quick and elusive not to play at the next level. So he see's CP go to the nfl with a splash, and being a juco initially... the guy is seeing the dollar signs and knows what his age means.

Now for the issue at hand. With so many sources saying there is a hearing scheduled. I'm leaning towards it being true. It doesn't necessarily mean he is back though. Two possible options; he is coming back and we win the championship (national), and we go on to win the super bowl the same year, orrrr they have concluded the investigations (with the undesired conclusion) and want the schools hearing to precede state hearings to satisfy the Feds. I'm not exactly sure that would even happen but I guess it's possible. Either way it seems an answer is on the horizon.

In closing, I would like to go back to my experiences scrolling through the last 10-15 pages. I SORELY missed the "like" button while laughing my butt off at some of the crazy crap said in this post.

There's an open, ongoing investigation. All anyone is saying is that if they have no evidence, if they have no case, simply let people know you're closing the investigation.....don't care how you do it, press conference, press release, email, candy gram.

I vote a catered event in Jacksonville FL for Tennessee fans.
