Yeah, but it's not the idea that Von might be "over" college that is outrageous. (It's pure conjecture and may be wildly wrong, but it's not necessarily inherently outrageous.) What is outrageous is the purported logical connection from "I'm tired of college..." to "... so I am going to go rape somebody." I mean... what?
Nah, that cause-effect relationship was nowhere in my supposition. You and one other person completely misread if you think you saw it. Given your misunderstanding of what I wrote, I suppose I can see your shock and indignation. But if you read again, I think you'll see that this A therefore B link does not exist.
Look, all I said, and all I'm saying now, is that Von is probably getting pretty fed up by this point. He probably isn't a huge fan of the classroom side of college life anyway (that's no dig, just reality for some college athletes). Now he's been put through a wringer (whether of his own making or not), and I know how college-age guys typically react to that...a whole lot of "man, I don't need this crap" even when they feel responsible for having gotten into the situation.
So Von's pretty fed up with it all. And if there's even the smallest element of truth to the story we originally heard on these forums (exposed himself in a bathroom in front of a young lady who was not amused ... NOT rape, Drylo, learn to read please), then he clearly didn't take to heart the warnings the coaches drummed into the team after AJ's incident less than 6 months before that. That's another sign he might be fed up with the restrictions of a college program (see how there is
no cause and effect here?)
So concluding that Von would strongly prefer to play out his senior year in 2015, even a shortened year, rather than wait around in redshirt to play in 2016, seems to make a lot of sense to me, understanding his likely mind set.
That's all I've said from my first post on this topic. And it's what I still believe is more likely than not.
As for Butch being a little exasperated with Von, wouldn't you be? I would, were I his coach.
This ain't rocket science fellows, more folks than just Josh Dobbs ought to be able to understand it.
