Von Pearson Update

Heh, thanks for the polite and thoughtful reply.

Look, I could be wrong on this. But here's my resaoning: late fall 2014, AJ Johnson gets suspended from the team for an alleged incident with a woman of a sexual nature. Coaches clearly state the type of behavior alleged is not tolerated at Tennessee. You know they spend some time reinforcing that with the players. Less than six months later, in spring 2015, Von Pearson gets suspended from the team for an alleged incident with a woman of a sexual nature.

I could be way off, but that has the distinct feel of a young man rebelling against authority ("I do what I want"), or at the very least not paying too much attention to the coaching leadership. And that sounds like a guy who is ready to be free of the restrictions that come with being part of a college program.

Seniors get itchy to move on with their lives. It's human nature, happens to most seniors. It would actually be shocking if Von were not starting to tire of college life.

Add that plus his alleged non-compliance with the direction of the coaches, and it seems to add up to a guy who is probably about ready to graduate and move on to the next stage of his life.

As for the possibility I mentioned about Butch being cool on Von because of this alleged incident, come on. You think Butch hasn't been frustrated by this, and hasn't give Von a good earful about keeping himself out of situations like this, putting the team at risk this way?

I'm finding it a little surprising that you guys are shocked by these pretty common-sense speculations.

Known fact? Absolutely not. But entirely possible? Oh yes. Likely, even, I'd say.

See, that's the kind of post I've come to expect from you, not silly conjecture about things that apparently only you see.

BO15, that post is exactly the same supposition as the "silly conjecture" one, only explained more fully. I still believe it is more likely than not part of what's going on with Von right now.

Maybe I am the only one who sees it. And maybe I'm wrong. But I, of course, think it is entirely plausible, or I wouldn't have shared it with you.

Let's bring a sense of reality back to this thread (yes, i know that is blaphemy on this board).

There is one thing we absolutely know out of this. There is some question as to whether Von Pearson is guilty of anything. How do we know this? Well, it is really common sense. Aj Johnson, Von Pearson and Michael Williams have all been accused of domestic violence or sexual assault over the last 9 or 10 months. Each was suspended from all team activities awaiting the results of police investigations.

I assume you remember Treyvon Paulk? He also was accused of a domestic violence/sexual assault crime. Of the 4 players mentioned, he is the only one that never faced charges, since the alleged victim refused to press charges. Yet, Paulk is the only one of the 4 who was immediately kicked off the team and was not allowed back.

What possible conclusion can we draw from this?

Perhaps Coach Jones knew that Paulk was guilty and dismissed him as appropriate actions. Apparently, since the other three have not been or were not dismissed from the team, there is some question on the guilt of the individual.

From the outside looking in, it is easy to generate a theory based on an individuals experiences and feelings that makes sense to them. I prefer to take known information and make a common sense observation and then wait to determine if that observation was correct.

Lol

Yea he hated it so much he played the previous season in front of 600 fans.

Playing in front on 100K + and having one of your practice catches on Sports Center sure must have been rough on him. I feel for the guy having to drudge through collegiate celebrity.

For all you or I know this "alleged incident" could be akin to GOAT Peyton Manning tea bagging that chick on the trainers table oh so many years ago. A time before knuckleheads debated law and a college kid's level of commitment on the internet with nothing more than their version of common sense or flimsy moral high ground in their arsenal.

Yep... One year of being the biggest celebrity of his life was all he could take, 2 was just too much! Lol.... How in the world does this stuff even come up?

My guess?? Alcohol or "mind-altering substances". My personal opinion would get me another warning from His Excellency, so nah.

Yes, Luke, reach out with your feelings and take hold of the improbable. Clutch it tightly.

Sometimes when I eat M&M's I put two in my hand and squeeze them together. Whichever one gets crushed I eat. Then a new M&M challenger enters this arena and the cycle of M&M gladiatorial combat continues until there is only one left. I then send a letter to M&M's with the victorious M&M inside of it with a note attached reading: "Please use this M&M for breeding purposes."

I haven't been on this thread in nearing 5 days now, but I wish I had kept that streak going. I figured my above contribution was about as relevant as everything else in here so far.

Are you trying to make M&M's rock hard and impossible to eat?

Are these peanut M&M's?

Man, I'm not feeling this college game anymore. Really tired of all of these people telling me how to live my life.

Gonna go sexually assault somebody. F*** the system, I do what I want.

...and you term this absurd leap of logic as 'quite likely'? Come on, man. You're a better poster than this.
