Von Pearson Update

I have received a reply from the M&M company (it turns out they are owned by the Mars company) and although they appreciate my enthusiasm and support for the betterment of their product, they regret to inform me that my notion that M&M's are bred is not rather misguided, and they are, in fact, made in a factory.

However, they sent me a voucher for a 10% discount on the next purchase of any of the Mars company's products, and I intend to use it on, you guessed it, more M&M's.

That is all the information I have at this time.

Also, what color normally wins?

Thread hi jacked by the Willie Wonka fan club. :cray:

I'm a little upset... Things usually don't get like this unless I'm in the middle of it.:)

j/k... I'm trying to turnover a new leaf though I'll admit my main motive for not getting into the expert legal discussion here is that it was terribly boring.

Some will complain, personally I found the M&M saga much more compelling than the thread had been.

The Knoxville News Sentinel posted last night that Pearson is still not back with the team. It looked like the last page of posts had people spiking the ball, but this article still leaves room for questions. Does anyone have anything definitive yet?

This is the article in the Sentinel.
Von Pearson, Vic Wharton among players that didn

I don't think there was any question whether or not he was back with the team yet. When his suspension is lifted it will be huge news. Right now he's still on the roster and suspended indefinitely.

Start an M&M Hall of Fame. Let the winners retire with dignity.

If I'm Butch, I put him back on the team until formal charges are filed. Screw this trend of guilty until proven innocent. And while I'm at it, screw the PC police.

I'm inclined to agree.
Due to the snail like speed with Knox authorities, I hope Butch starts doing what most coaches do and wait for formal charges to be filed before suspensions.

Pearson isn't coming back people and you can blame Butch for that decision. Pearson is already tied up into the system just like AJ was. They haven't gotten around to doing anything about his case now and it's not going to happen come August either.

The only way you'll know if VP even has a chance will be by the time fall practices start which is generally the first week of August. If he's allowed to practice it's good, otherwise he's gone. I don't see him missing all of fall practice and being allowed to play.

Pipe dream!

Would it be unusual for him to be enrolled in fall classes if he indeed wasn't coming back?

No, he probably hasn't been told one way or the other just like the rest of us. He'll be stuck in limbo until it's too late, just like with AJ.

Like the link Envolronment posted from KNS that states, they didn't even give Von Pearson a Taxslayer bowl ring even though he played. Does that sound promising to you?

They enrolled in fall classes in late March or early April. The fact that he registered has nothing to do with whether he will be in school or not.

I don't blame Butch for the decision. His hands are tied. He can't take the risk of knowingly allowing a player who is being investigated for rape to play football, because if charges somehow stuck, it would be a PR and negative recruiting disaster.

That said, I'm close to agreeing with you in that I think he won't be back. If he's not cleared by August 1, he's done at Tennessee, IMO.
