Von Pearson Update

Not sure why admitting we know nothing would cause people who do know something not to share.

No, people with inside info are not sharing here because:

1. Their job requires that they keep mum to the public; or
2. They know internet audiences are fickle, insatiable, and usually rude. Messengers get shot; golden geese get slaughtered; or
3. There is no upside, and plenty of downside, to letting it be known that you have insider access; or
4. All of the above.

Not because some of us admit we don't know much of anything about such sensitive matters.

Pretty sure he was saying that he wrote that post because he knew those things to be true and then you wrote something contradicting it.

You read his post all wrong...he was addressing another point, not contradicting the one you're referring to.

Will Von be charged with the evidence they have? No.

Do they anticipate that incriminating evidence will be forthcoming? No.

Will KPD officially close the investigation before the start of fall camp? They're not compelled to do so.

Will Butch reinstate Von if the investigation remains ongoing after 90 days, but without the evidence to proceed? That is the real question.

Bottom line: we're clueless. Just gotta trust the head coach, or not. I do.

And posts like this are exactly why people with info don't bother to pass along what they know.

You read his post all wrong...he was addressing another point, not contradicting the one you're referring to.

Ummm...I don't think so. LA Vol posted questions with answers. JP changed those answers to different answers saying that none of us knew anything. LA Vol replied saying the change made by JP was the reason people with real information don't like to post.

Pretty sure he was saying that he wrote that post because he knew those things to be true and then you wrote something contradicting it.

If LA truly knew the answers to the questions he posed, then I apologize.

But the only people who could know the answers to his first two questions are members of the prosecuting attorney's office who are involved in the decision. The University won't know...the AD's staff won't know...and the coaching staff won't know.

And I guarantee the prosecuting attorney's office ain't answering those questions on VN.

Which takes us back to...we don't know. Including LA.

Some of you people are unreal. I'm truly glad that most of you aren't alumni. For those of you who are, I wish we could have a closed thread where UT alums could discuss topics of mutual interest, civilly and with respect. Because, yeah, a lot of us hear things from other alums in a position to know. Especially this week.

Enjoy the rest of your day, those of you who are able.

You can have exactly that. It'll take some work and won't be as fun as around here. But you can have it. Hope you're right about Von though

LA, it seems your feelings got hurt. I'm sorry about that. But you can't possibly know (I mean know, not believe) these things unless your fellow alum is inside the prosecutor's office. In which case, s/he really shouldn't be telling you a thing, and you really shouldn't be sharing it. Out of respect for him/her keeping their job, if for no other reason.

So to then get upset when folks don't believe you because you can't (shouldn't) possibly know, is a little overly sensitive. From that point, to further believe that the world would be all cake and ice cream if only you could be tucked away with just fellow alumni, that's heading toward the nonsensical.

Maybe you have a ton of credibility with a close circle of classmates and fellow grads who know you in RL and know who your insider friends are. I don't know. Because I don't know you.

So don't get feeling too bad when I don't take what you say for gospel just because you posted it. Especially what would be very sensitive and protected legal info.

But sorry I hurt your feelings, truly. Wasn't my intent.

Most boring forum ever! Bunch of uptight guys scoreboarding parchments (but extremely polite!) and toasting each other with the finest of port. Multiple 7 post threads claiming inside cred when something does/doesn't happen. Should charge a subscription!

I saw 1 person disagree with you and one other have a little fun?? Personally, I took a shot at myself for knowing less than someone 2,500 miles away, and from those things you take your ball and go home? Going out on a limb and saying - Life of the party?

I also feel many of us are an alumni. You know some things I remember? Being able to disagree and have a little fun without any feelings being hurt.

Don't sweat it, JP. My feelings aren't hurt. But you know, a lot of the info is neither privileged nor private. Lawyers know exactly where the line is.

Actually, I'm in Knoxville this week. Going out on a limb and saying-- you weren't even invited to the party?

Just having a little fun. Hope your feelings aren't hurt.

No I'm good :good!: I just was surprised with the whole "goodnight" thing. I mean you have been here before, it's VN.

P.S. I host the party! At least I used to and it was a dam# good pick-up line. (sometimes)

Cool, I like you, LA, I wouldn't want to step on your toes.

And I'm surely no lawyer, but it sounds like you are, or you're friends with one (in the prosecutor's office, no less), so we should clearly pay attention to your insights on the VP case.

Thanks for that.

Holy Beejeeebers!!! I have clicked this link 298 times.. okay I am not exactly clear as to how many times but that is probably Close!

Any chance Butch thinks twice before voluntarily suspending players over allegations from this point on?

This tactic just gives psychotic females WAY too much power. The sad truth to that is that the football player doesn't even have to be there for an allegation to occur.

Pearson stood accused of rape. Common sense dictated Butch's response (a suspension). If you stand accused of rape then at the very least you should get suspended until the investigation has reached its conclusion. We're not FSU here.....

GFW mentioned that he has enrolled in Fall classes, so I think he's officially back.

Thanks Vol Kirb! I am glad to hear something. Hopefully all will work out for him and he keeps his britches pulled up..... well, unless he needs to poop, WOOHOO!

Go Vols!:dance2::pepper:

So, still in school but not a part of the team due to the ongoing school investigation/being investigated for a felony?

Just trying to see if I'm up to date on where VP stands.

Yes as far as I have read. Still in school but not on the team as of now. Which is the way it has been I guess. I mean he was never kicked out of school.

He is still on the team. Has never been taken off. He is just suspended from team activities. He is able to work out and attend school. His grades are fine and he's enrolled for the fall.
