"Tennessee senior wide receiver Von Pearson remains indefinitely suspended from all team activities after he recently was named a suspect in an ongoing rape investigation, and theres still no indication of when the investigation might conclude. Sources with knowledge of the situation have suggested its entirely possible that Pearson will not face charges in connection with the alleged incident, based on whats currently known about the case. Then again, some once had the same thoughts about former Vols linebacker A.J. Johnsons off-field troubles last year, so its still far too early to assume that no charges will be brought against Pearson."
The ONLY reason Pearson is not on the team is because Butch doesn't want him there. Butch can reinstate him whenever he sees fit, even if he is charged. Don't try to put blame anywhere other than on Butch.

This case is taking way too long, any other state and it would be done
It was stated earlier in the thread that they're holding up Von's case because they want him to testify against AJ (which surely he won't do) as he was apparently a witness to whatever happened in AJ's case. If he were to consent to testifying, the DA's office would "find a way" to expedite or drop his case.
This is the kind of crappy, no-win situation people find themselves put in with the court system. Testify against your friend and possibly put him in jail or don't testify and possibly get jailed or lose hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of season playing time and reputation yourself (as AJ did). I wonder if it's too late for Von to request a redshirt year.

If he still has the voicemail that's some pretty damning evidence that the girl is trying to set him up.I haven't followed this one much, so I'm not sure what info is and is not out. A girl I met (cleat chaser friend of a friend) was telling me that the girl left a voicemail on his phone saying that she had his career in her hands

Whats your point with this? We all know Butch has a policy and we are all happy that he does, but you've missed (somehow) that our complaint is that we should know one way or the other by now so he's either back or gone. Somebody is dragging their feet with this, just like with AJ and Williams. It's entirely ridiculous to keep someone's life on hold like this.
