Never let the 13 years of adverse winds blow out your candle of hope. Bless you. Go Vols.

Has Tennessee ever had a season of 3 straight losses, of 20+ points? One of those to Kentucky. OP believes that the mighty vols can run the table. An off week may help re-set some minds, coaches especially. The first quarter against Arkansas will tell the tale.

nice to be hopeful and optimistic but with the challenges in the secondary and QB position it may be tough- of course

Some folks dimissed our chances of running the table on the backend last year but we did. It won't be easy but any saying it isn't possible are wrong as well. Our qb situation will have to change and I think the only way to possibly win them all is too give our other qb's a chance. The rest of our game will have to pick up as well but it should if our players keep fighting. GBO!

4-1 if we change quarterbacks. Possibly 5-0 because we can run the ball even on Florida as long as we keep them honest with any kind of passing game. Defense can't play the entire game and hold these teams. We have a good first group and pretty good second group but we don't have the depth to keep up with a lot of the SEC yet. Working on it though. We're head and shoulders above where we were just a couple of years ago with depth. Need to get Jeremy Banks back. Say what you will about him but he's always around the football and making plays and just a side note about him I know he made a mistake but he's a very well mannered young man if you meet him in person. If we stay the course with Guarantano I think we may beat Vanderbilt if the defense plays extremely well for about 45 minutes of the ballgame.

Have you ever known a General?
All are too vain to ever stoop to the level of hope.
Custer was a fool.

His playcalling is a reflection of what JG cannot do. If your QB cannot process information fast enough to burn opponent blitzes then you have to design gameplans that mitigate blitzes some other way. You have to run on passing downs hoping to catch a seam. UT did that a few times vs Bama.

If your QB cannot anticipate throws and has spotty accuracy, you cannot throw to the deep middle against good secondaries. That further limits what you can do in the run game AND puts more pressure on your OL in protection.

There's a ton more... but he cannot call plays that his team and particularly his QB cannot execute... and he cannot call plays that run off those plays either.

A LOT of people here underestimate how much JG's limitations directly and indirectly limit the O. Don't get me wrong. Almost all QB's have some limitation that the OC has to gameplan around. JG just has too many and especially for a RS Sr.
But but but completion %
And don't forget how "tough" he is

Tenesaee will go 2-3 or 1-4. Candy is the only solid win left on the schedule for a team that seems broken.

Arkansas is playing much better football than us right now.

Pittman has his players playing extremely hard while our players seem to quit on Pruitt.

And we will get both Mondon and Green, and we will get Mims to flip to us. Plus the virus will be gone by Nov 4th, and Peyton will be our new QB coach.

Mize well give those ruby slippers a real test.

Plenty of talent but zero chemistry and heart, not to mention coaching. Not much chance of winning out. Be glad when the season's over. It's been a long 12 years.
