I'm agreeing with you as usual man!

He also indirectly effects the morale of the entire team. Specifically with us not staying on the field on offense. Tires out the defense. He brings no energy. No excitement. Apathy. Dread. He is Dearth Guarantano.

I'm still in the "most of our issues are because of JG" camp.

My belief in Pruitt wanes the longer he is on the field and so does Pruitts prospects here at UT. The longer he is off the field the more likely our morale will return.

Last year as soon as we took him off the field for the first time. We scored points finally against FLA. Even tho Maurer was thrown to the wolves it excited our team enough and he made just enough throws to get us in field goal range. Then we saw a completely different team in the first half against UGA. More life on offense since the Dobbs years. Benching JG for Maurer saved our dignity and our program last year and JG is literally tearing all of that down because he is nothing more than a back up with a propensity towards calamity.

We are not in the hopeless state many here believe us to be in. But if Pruitt continues to trot him out there then let him continue to dig his own grave. He deserves it.

Spot on!

Leaders not only lead, but they get results. Guarantano is lacking in the "results" department. 4-16 on 3rd downs won't cut it, and far to often his missed throws are on 3rd down.

Vandy is a win and the other 4 games I expect us to win 2 with a chance to win all 4. The reason I expect us to have this chance the Offensive Line play I believe will lead the way. we can run the football on anyone left and run it well as are Line will get healthy after the break. J Johnson made a difference in his return Morris will get healthy and I believe Cade will round into shape and play his best ball. So we will only need JG or Mauer to play good football and I my hope is this off week that Mauer Proves to be the man he has the most upside as of this moment. We will see how H Bailey continues to improve but when you watch the limited action Mauer had in his one series his ability to turn on the wheels and pick up a 3rd and 13 is why the Coaching staff will do everything to get him ready. In CHRIST Alone.

Makes sense. Time to move on from JG and go with someone else. If he's the best we have then we're in big trouble/ However I think we have others that can shine just need to have the chance to showcase what they have.
Pruitt keeps repeating that JG is the one who gives them the best chance at success. Some intrepid reporter needs to ask him to define "success". If "success" is scoring 17 rather than 13 last week vs Bama by playing someone with a higher ceiling that needs seasoning... then that's not a very good definition. I would say a "good" definition would be to play the guy who gives UT its best chance of competing for the East within 3 years. That isn't JG.... not even if he somehow gets his eligibility extended again.

Agreed Chaney's play calling has me scratching my head every week.

You can believe what you want, but Pruitt is preping the game, Chaney is calling what Pruitt says to call. This is not Chaney's offense imo. this is Pruitts. I believe if he would just turn the offense over to Chaney and let him run it we would see a great improvement.

I wished someone would tell Pruitt the next time he says this about jg. Coach if that is so you have done a terrible job of recruiting qb. You have 3 years of recruits and none of them are as good as jg, whom you did not recruit?

Yeah we basically can't get worse offensive production than what we've got, so its a no brainer to play Maurer and Bailey.

Some of you, I believe, don't realize that reality is generally somewhere between the dregs of despair and utopia. Let's gun for .500 and hope we overachieve!

I see. Well before I knew better, I thought UT would win every week. 40 years of disappointments will make you face reality. The last 5 aren't the same teams UT swept in that famous 8 game win streak. Posting a "Win Out" scenario at this point is just Silly. Probably 18 year olds. A&M will clock Tenn as will UF. Ark has momentum, and Auburn too. That leaves Vandy------------ Like I said, it is Preposterous to predict a sweep. Ut is no better than last year; and has a much tougher schedule.
I can understand your dissent but why post it in black and white and make it so easy for public humiliation and ridicule if possibly it does happen? Free society (at least on November 2020 it is) and you’re welcome to dissent til your heart content but it seems rather risky.... maybe a little. And the OP was being positive👍👍.

We have a shot in each of the last games, but three things have to happen:

1. We have to open up the playbook and quit being so predictable on offense. This will require a change at QB.
2. We have to get pressure on the opposing QBs.
3. Our secondary is going to have to create some turnovers.

And.......none of our future opponents will try to get better or be able to get healthy.......right?

The health of other teams does not matter if Tn O Line plays with the capability they can. I expect us to rush for 200 yards game. Hopefully Chaney can dial up enough passing plays to take advantage of the safeties playing in the box. In CHRIST Alone

Don't break your fingers while keeping them crossed that long.

Unpopular opinion here but what if JG is the best we have right now? Naw he can’t be with zero awareness since day 1, zero ability to read a defense, zero pocket presence, and zero leadership on the field.

I’m with SJT this offense is hamstrung by JG. I saw glimpses of it during the USC game. He consistently threw high on crossing routes and as always made the right read 2 seconds too late. So now our offense is quick out routes, and verticals as JG seems to excel at putting the ball in a good position for our WRs to win the 50/50 throws. The issue is that defenses know this and shut it down. Then if we get behind the chains it’s gonna be a punt.

So I hate to say it but I fully expect Pruitt to trot JG out there against Arkansas. I just don’t get the feeling that any of the younger guys are putting in the time to take that from JG. This is the problem JG is a practice super star. No pressure just sling it. I say we take JG’s black jersey off and have live practices. Then I bet he wouldn’t light up the practice field.

I believe they will.....sit back and enjoy folks !
I am not very optimistic. That said, I hope it happens. I just think it is out of Pruitt’s hands. He made the wrong move with our S&C promotion and every position group is suffering from it. People are saying our players are quitting. These are guys that were on the team that fought hard last year. They are not in as good of shape. You cannot win in the SEC without the best S&C.
