I'm sure Russian agents are attempting nefarious activities in America, but the racial unrest doesn't seem like fertile ground for that kind of thing.
Watch The Americans.
While it's fictious it does use historical events as a basis. The KGB was actively involved in the Black Panthers, Malcolm X and they tried to turn MLK but he was actually pretty square in believing in the Constitution and wouldn't go radical.
While I don't know if the Russians are involved in trying to sow seeds of dissent in the US... it wouldn't surprise me. But honestly, why would they waste their time when our own damned media is doing a great job pushing a highly slanted and biased "racial tension" story?
Breitbart, MotherJones, Slate, etc. They're all awful.
While I don't know if the Russians are involved in trying to sow seeds of dissent in the US.
I think Russian focus is on intelligence gathering, cyber warfare, trying to rig the financial markets.
As Louder points out, the racial stuff has been too geographically disparate to lend itself to outside orchestration.
al and jesse work for the Russians?
Al and Jesse work for themselves while convincing the black community they're working for them.
Point being, Russians are known to have a very active presence on internet forums, etc. Social media and modern forms of communication make it very easy to have a small foot but a large footprint, so to speak.
They likely wouldn't even be at the riots themselves if they are involved.
But are the analysts right? The evidence is compelling.
Fascist regimes have charismatic dictators with hyper-masculine personality cults. These regimes generally evince a hyper-nationalist ethos, a cult of violence, mass mobilization of youth, high levels of repression, powerful propaganda machines and imperialist projects. Fascist regimes are hugely popularusually because the charismatic leader appeals to broad sectors of the population.
Putin and his Russia fit the bill perfectly.
Little danger of America becoming fascist, then, unless we rally the youth around video games.
something to dangle in front of the masses?

Newsweek article on Putin as a fascist that is currently making the rounds and has Russian trolls in a tizzy. It's so fun watching them squirm like rats.

I don't know that there's a country in the world more obsessed with America and its culture than Russia, whether intentionally or unintentionally. I think they talk about us as much as we do ourselves.
Just days before Tuesdays launch, Roscosmos announced that the cargo ship held a copy of the Banner of Victory, the red flag with the Soviet hammer and sickle that was raised over the Reichstag in Berlin by victorious Soviet soldiers in 1945. It is a highly revered symbol of the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.
But on Wednesday, the agency said the banner was already on the space station, arriving with Kelly and Kornienko in March.

The US and it's welfare/warfare model over the last 50 years will be the demise of this economy. Blaming Russia for anything they might do is just the powers that be looking for a convenient scapegoat when the SHTF.
